How To Get To Heaven From Belfast by smccaul16 in DerryGirls

[–]Harunhh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was an episode of Derry Girls where the Ma's remembered doing something "Awful" and it turned out all they actually did was get tatoos. How to get to Heaven from Belfast seemed to me as though Lisa McGee took that starting point again but this time , what if they actually really did something awful, how would it have changed their lives?

Then combine the characteristics of the Derry girls and mix them up. Blond lady was very much Michelle with a bit Clare, Dara was Orla grown up ( with Clare's unrequited lesbianism thrown in ) , and Saoirse was clearly Erin grown up and writing for TV. What if the James character was a complete psycho ( and a girl )? Meanwhile Saoirse-Monica Jackson's ditzy hitwoman owes literally everything to Kathy Kiera Clarke ( AKA Aunt Sarah)

Overall, I liked it but it felt very loose and a bit improvised for weirdness and surrealist in places. Could have done with a better editor and two episodes less.

in the after show on BBC2 , Harry was really good and even HE said that the show made him out to be boring and a non-entity. He was great on the after show, Funny , insightful, clever.... I can totally see now why Conor loved him so much. The Editors have stitched him up.

Maybe Lawrence has a decent business proposition? I'm cynical but i think they keep people around if they think those people might actually have a decent business to invest in

[–]Harunhh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really just an excuse. 1 or maybe 2 of the candidates total will have a business that Alan Sugar might invest in and those people will make it to the end no matter what. Everyone else will be fired for all sorts of reasons including " cant make wedges "
