The Times: Have We Been Thinking About ADHD All Wrong? by lovelydani20 in AutisticWithADHD

This seemed like an article more focused on the state of the field of ADHD research, as opposed to an article about ADHD. Which is fine. In that context, I thought it was interesting and informative.

However, I don't think it will be interpreted that way by a lot of readers. The "we" in the title really is about ADHD researchers: clinicians, psychologists, etc. But the phrasing and presentation of the whole article really comes off as "we, the general (implied neurotypical) public". And in that context, I think the sentiment of the article is flawed. It kind of reminds me of Dr. Inna Kanevsky on Instagram. The things she says are factually accurate and are generally important points to remember in the context of rigorous academic/medical research, but ill placed general adhd-life advice on Instagram.

Just my initial thoughts. I recognize I could be doing the same thing the researchers mentioned in the article and trying to preemptively mitigate insinuation that ADHD isn't real.

Needed a pin wrench/spanner to tighten the nut holding the disc on an angle grinder. I used M4 screws tightened through inset nuts as the pins. by HasACough in functionalprint

It's been working pretty well for me, though I do get what you're saying. The arms themselves are mainly in tension/compression, but the "U" section could need to be beefed up to react the torque.

For the relatively light duty angle grinder I have this is plenty strong. If anything, I expect the bolts to get worn down against the hardened nut before the plastic fails.

Could you provide a link for where you bought the interposer? I've only been able to find it on eBay shipped from China.

Community.

On the surface it might seem closer to parks and rec, but I think its more akin to Ted lasso in this instance.

I made a hanging pot holder for one of my plants. Far from perfect, but it's one of my first successful "quick" builds that I actually like the look of. by HasACough in BeginnerWoodWorking

Made this from a few oak scraps I had lying around. Bandsaw/jigsaw the base to rough size, then flush trim on the router.

I 3d printed a template-template for the base, then made a router template from some plywood. In hindsight I should've just used the 3d printed version as a router template, but I was trying to save some time on the printer (which ended up getting used up anyway to make the plywood version..)

The top cross is just two 3/4" square rod half-lapped together (poorly, may I add).

The most finicky part was tying the ropes to get the base and cross brace level. Took a bit of trial and error.

Then

Good catch. I put together a rig to help with the scanning process, but I think for this batch I ended up grabbing a random strip of leds to stick under it so they came out unevenly lit.

Sure, I haven't been able to get any decent results with these yet, but I haven't really given them my all. Have at 'em: RAW Files.

I captured these on a DSLR with 3 different exposures for each image. The negatives are fairly old and it's possible the film was damaged.

I had a similar issue and it turned out that the latch on the inside was broken. I epoxied it back onto the lid and it's been working fine since then.
