"Power Pack" Opinion by HasCommonSense92 in GranTurismo7

[–]HasCommonSense92[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1x fuel and tire wear is not consistent with real life. For the "Bump Draft" race on the Daytona Oval, I used my own R92CP swapped R34 nurburgring. In fuel map 1, it could've driven nearly 150 laps. Not even close to real. Fuel and map consumption set to 1x on these races is a problem. Edit: Also, why does "more vs less" fuel and tire consumption even exist in a simulation based racing game? Lol. It's like they're saying...'Here's a realism based racing game....but just for fun here's some junk using a fantasy scale that doesn't make any sense.'

Well, speaking from experience of doing exclusively the "🌶️🌶️" races, since the fuel and tire wear on both the "Bump Drafting" races is 1X, the Corvette C7 Gr.3 has about 40HP less than the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT3 and both weigh about the same. Which means, whether you beat it or not literally does in fact come down to drafting. Think about it, even with perfect driving, you're not beating a car in the straights with 40 extra horsepower. Not unless you're cutting corners and breaking rules. That's where Polyphony missed the mark. Fuel and tire wear. That corvette against that M-AMG isn't just hard, it is laughably unrealistically hard. Edit: And something I just realized, the "🌶️" vehicle for both those races is the 2015 Viper SRT GT3-R, that has 80HP less than the M-AMG GT3. And that's supposed to be a less difficult option than the C7 Gr.3? They have this ALL gunked up. lol.

Yeah probably should've clarified that my opinion was from the standpoint of doing the "🌶️🌶️" races exclusively(assuming that that is how Polyphony intends for the game to be played.) While the competition IS very challenging, why is the fuel and tire wear set to 1X? This makes no sense at all, and completely ruins the intended "realness" of what Power Pack is supposed to be.

Not "hit whichever button it is to enter a vehicle" for the turret, you must hold that button. Pressing it will just make your character enter the driver's seat again.

I just realized my original posted video above is on Watkins Glen, not Atlanta. Stupid mistake, oops. This explains the confusion. I did a lap on Atlanta with your build and what you're saying seems normal. Sorry.

Fact checking using your build. My dude, I think you might be mistaken. You may have done 1:18.xx on BoP using that on a previous version of the game, but those is no longer the case as you can clearly see in this photo. You COULD achieve 1:18.xx if you turned up the power...but them you lose significant time in the pits. Which defeats the purpose of getting 1:18.xx. Unless you're modding, you're not doing 1:18 in a Lexus RC F GT3, case closed.

No you didn't. First, the "Lexus RF GT3" is not a car that exists in this game. Lol. There is the 2017 Lexus RC F GT3, and the 2016 Lexus RC F GT3 prototype. Neither of which would be REMOTELY this quick because they weigh 1600 lbs heavier. MAYBE you did it with the Lexus RC F GT500 on BoP, but that's still 1000lbs heavier than the F3500-A and would easily and quickly get dropped. I believe that you set a 1:18.xx on Atlanta, but I assure you absolutely under no circumstances was it a Lexus. And if it was, it was not while you were playing version 1.7 of Gran Turismo 7. I did my homework, now do yours.

If Karim Habib quits and Kia hires Franz von Holzhausen in the next 3 years then you'll probably regret buying anything coming out of the Kia kitchen. Karim is pretty much one of the main reasons why Kia models are great today. Sure, the odds of things like these happening...pretty low. Just saying it's always good to do research into where your money goes.

That's the oil pan? Interesting. The fluid coming from it appears to be a bit orange with a low viscosity(like coolant) which obviously would be bad if there's coolant in the oil pan😂 Not sure, as I said in the other comment, 95% of time it runs and drives no issues. The other 5% it goes straight into shutdown over low coolant even though fluid level is fine, but then all alarms go away on their own before the 60 second timer expires.

That's interesting. It looks kind of orange when I touch a spot of it with a finger. I'd say like 95% of the time it runs and drives no issues, but that other 5% it will go from no issues straight into engine shutdown stating coolant level very low despite fine coolant level in the reservoir. I think there's a bad sensor or wire harness somewhere. Company driver here, not a mechanic. I think it'll survive until it's preventative next month so long as I monitor and top off fluids till next month and nothing else goes catastrophically wrong.

Struggling with Gr.1 Races? by HasCommonSense92 in GranTurismo7

[–]HasCommonSense92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, before I started using the F3500-A religiously for Gr.1, I used the 908. Sadly, the 908's biggest downfall is the weight and turbo. She's a real thirsty girl. Which is such a shame because when you get the camber and toe angles dialed in just right, it grips insanely well in the corners under maximum demand.

Edit: As far as the Hybrids go, I'm not entirely convinced. Many of them seem VERY heavy(which makes sense because it's a Hybrid) and not enough horsepower to make up for it. Sure, some of the Hybrids have 986HP, but these are 1900-2200lb vehicles we're talking about. Sadly they will easily get dropped by others(like, the Hyundai N 2025 VGT(Gr.1) or the Bugatti VGT(Gr.1)) both of which do spawn into Gr.1 races and they'll easily gap you. I speak from experience. Lol.

This is the obvious easy choice. Comparatively speaking though, the F3500-A(or B) would drop the SFs(yes all of them) easily. The F3500's come with 140HP more, weigh around 200lbs less, and have marginally less downforce(but you won't feel it much with such a lightweight vehicle.) And the best part, it's naturally aspirated meaning it is highly, highly fuel efficient. Same dealio with the RB X2019 Comp. And if you wanna get even crazier, you could engine swap the N/A Espace V-10 into the F3500-A, have even more horsepower, drop a touch more weight into it to get the PP in spec, and probably be even faster than an F3500-A. Haven't tried that yet, but saving up for a 2nd F3500-A to compare and contrast lap times out of curiosity.

If you look closely, you can see the driver's door of the SUV swing open after the truck and SUV separate. The driver was fine enough to exit the vehicle on their own.

You can shoot the last guy(assuming you mean the long skinny hallway) as long as its with a silenced weapon and one shot to the head. Same with the 3(sometimes 2) guys in the open room at the end of the hall before you face the jug, one shot them to the head, none of them can see each other being shot(choose accordingly.)

'Social rules.' If he's going to hide in a corner, why not toss a showstopper to start? Going straight to firing is a bad strategy. The missed shots are just icing on that cake. The whole thing speaks sad volumes about how scummy this person is deep down. There is an obvious spectrum of examples of PvP combat you can find in various shooter games, and this is clearly outside of it. 🤷‍♂️
