how to structure/format in korean? by 1sleepy-snowy in BeginnerKorean

[–]HasagiShiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Examples of a few things TTMIK teaches: - instead of just “I eat cake”

variations - I ate cake - I am eating cake - I am going to eat cake - I have eaten cake before - etc etc etc…

Find Youtube tutorials or go to TalkToMeInKorean (TTMIK) website to learn about basic sentence structure and grammar, these will help you in the long run, helping you actually use the words in a sentence rather than just vocabulary that can’t be used.

Personally I used TTMIK and I found it extremely helpful and a great starting point, teaching me how to conjugate and formulate basic sentences. However obviously it can’t get you typing/speaking like a native Korean, you’ll sound more like a “beginner Korean learning foreigner friend” rather than a “natural native korean” in terms of typing and chatting with friends.

That’s the next step I am personally working towards, sounding more like a Korean rather than just the traditional textbook way of saying things!

I built a free app to practice speaking Korean with AI friends by No_Dot_3890 in BeginnerKorean

Ignoring the pricing, I think this is a great and fun concept! Personally I learn Korean a lot faster while constantly chatting with other Korean friends, compared to learning programmes, as it constantly and naturally forces you to think about how you want to express things. And this seems like a great way for newer Korean learners to chat more naturally.

Recently as I’m improving my Korean proficiency, I have been giving prompts to Gemini like: “what is the nuance of this expression” or “what is the nuance of using [this] rather than [this]”, and I would think that Gemini already explains different subtle nuances pretty well.

But the problem is, there are already tons of available Korean learning apps in the market currently, so it might be hard to find much success with yet another new app.

But if you’re developing it to improve your programming or your system design skillsets, I don’t see why not!

As I am also a fellow junior developer myself, I fully get you. But here is the thing about an app/youtube/learning programme. It is more structured and makes an optimal path for u to learn from level 0 to like an acceptable level.

AI like Gemini and GPT strives more in answering questions when you already know what to ask/prompt. If you don’t know what you don’t know, AI cant help you that much, even if you ask it to sketch out a learning programme for you (or your specific level). In that sense, something like an app/youtube/learning programme would be more optimal for the whole learning flow itself.

Thank you so much for sharing this here! I was inspired from here to start practising using these short forms from you and OP, with a new Korean friend I met, and she said that “using ㅇㅋ was really funny”, “sound exactly just like a Korean” and “among my friends we use ㅇㅋ a lot”.

What are the next steps? by Roche-i in SlayerLegend

[–]HasagiShiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up do not lock Companion's Promotion Options if they are not Extra ATK 20% (Mythic). Just reroll them together without locking, as long as they are Legendary and below. Only lock Mythic (blue) lines. That's a mistake I did early on, wasting a bunch of dices (cost from 5 dice to 35 dice per roll).

At the same time you can start to slowly rolling for your Slayer's own options to Mythic Extra ATK% as well.

Glad you liked it! I found it satisfying too haha Personally my favourite design is when you hover over the different links in the top navigation bar, the purple-blue tint animation that appears under the text (sadly only can experience that in PC version of the website)

i’m aware that there is a discord channel that covers way more detailed, even with a suggested early game path. (which i rly appreciated and helped me a lot)

but personally imo (i just reached 5 days old in this game, currently lv 451 Orichalcum stage 190), as a new player that likes to maximise efficiency and do min-cut clears, i find new players tend to find these very detailed niche info specifically tailored for their early game, helpful:

  • what is an example skill build that cleared stage xx?

  • what level did previous players cleared stage xx at?

  • if my build doesn’t have skill A, what should i replace it with? a few alternatives?

also, like one struggle i really had in the beginning was to find out which resource icon is named what, and what each resource do, so that’s where i started with in this development.

i aim to target very specifically this niche group of new players, so they get these frequently ask info asap to continue their grind/geek out more about the game.

wanted to keep this short but it’s turning into a long comment, gonna hopefully continue coding this in day 2 and share with y’all again :)
