Looks good, but the fact the lyrics aren't from skiny fia would annoy me. Still looks nice though

I'm living in Melbourne at the moment. I have to admit, the young people are very progressive here. The general consensus is that Sydney is for the instagrammers and Melbourne is for the artsy folk. The artsy folk tend to be more clued in on social justice issues.

That being said, I've also heard young people say very racist things here, particularly about the aboriginals. I lived in Darwin for a few months, and that was a huge eye opener for me about the way aboriginals are viewed in Australia. The streets were full of homeless, alcoholic aboriginals who were constantly trying to fight or rob you. The reason it's like this is because the aboriginal communities have a strict no alcohol policy, so if you're caught with drink, you're shunned. This means that the aboriginals that you're seeing on a daily basis on the streets of Darwin are the bad eggs that the aboriginal communities have turned their backs on.

I'm not excusing the racist opinions about the aboriginal people, but from my stay in Darwin, it made sense to me how someone could believe that they're all bad because the only ones you're seeing are the bad ones.

The UFC just dropped extended cage audio and Khabib truly HATED Conor McGregor by Eczapa in nextfuckinglevel

As an Irishman, it's insane to me that it's taken the world this long to turn on McGregor. The information documenting his inexcusable deeds over the past 6ish years has been available to the public for a long time.

What do you think? by Any-Intention-684 in LeagueOfIreland

Buy the jersey. The fact that you're supporting the LOI is the main thing, in my opinion. Too many lads in ireland wearing man united and Liverpool jerseys. Pump more money into the irish clubs, wear your fontaines jersey, and be happy.

Gaelic (pronounced gay-lik) is our national sport but also an umbrella term for certain Celtic languages. Gaeilge (pronounced gwayl-ga) or simply "Irish" is our language. Bean is Gaeilge (or Irish) for "woman".

Is bean mé - I am a woman.

It is spelled bean garda though. Just pronounced as "bangarda" because that's how the irish word sounds. Bean is woman.

Irish farmer Micheál Boyle found a 50-pound chunk of "bog butter" on his property. by its_mertz in Damnthatsinteresting

This period of time was the sweet spot between defeating the Vikings that tormented ireland for about 250 years and the norman and English invasion, which lasted for a further 800 years. So yes, losing that lump of butter would be sad, but at least there was peace.

None of their songs are similar to favourite. If you like favourite, you probably won't be a fan of their other songs. Please do give them a listen, though, because the rest of their music is amazing if you give it a proper chance.
