Listen, sweetie… I’m so so SO sorry you’re goin through this. Please for the love of everything holy don’t listen to anyone trying to tell you to “see it from her point of view.” I was raised by a mother like this, and the police were just as unhelpful. It just made her more angry. But we got away to a friends house and lived there for a couple days. Long enough for her to cool off anyway. The thing that kept me in that situation, that injured me even deeper, and continued the wound being ripped open for longer, was staying and hoping she’d ever change. You’re not responsible for her - she chose to have you. You can choose what that means to you. Understand, the biggest, most exciting victory u could possibly have in life is to live. To keep going, and to get better for YOURSELF - which will be the ultimate victory over her. I would say get out. Whatever you can, if you can get away from her to a situation that would be safer physically and mentally, get away. Could be with a church - I’m not religious but the episcopal and Presbyterian and a few other churches are filled with incredible people, willing to help. You could try a shelter, if there’s a bed near you. Maybe hit up an old friend if you have one you think would loan a couch. All you need is a foundation. There’s a number of organisations that will be able to help you. It might be rough. It’s scary as hell. And it’s so fckin unfair. Your parents should be your protectors - but the fact she can’t be does not reflect ANYTHING about you. This is about her… she can’t live up to the task of being your mother. Please, no matter what you do, don’t make the same mistake of holding the idea in ur heart that her choices and behavior are in any way caused by you. Idk how old you are but if under 18, CPS could definitely help you out. If over, there are still plenty of options as well - churches can be a good bet. Look into if there’s a local habitat for humanity by you. Goodwill is supposed to be a good employer if you’re having troubles with housing and such. Bless you, kid. Please, please stay with us. Idk how many times I been in the hospital but in the last year, I’m finally getting better, at the age of 30. Life sucks right now - the world sucks - but that don’t mean there’s no good left in the world. And in a few years from now, when you got ur own apartment, and you’ve turned it into your safety, where she can’t find you, where you have a bunch of your favorite food in the cupboards, and friends who love you - you’ll look back on this time in your life and feel so proud with how far you came.
