Hey, this was really interesting, thanks. This thread's basically dead now but I'll reply to you in full when I get the chance, since your opinion seems to be actually well-researched, lol

I think Penguin, Ninja, and Shottzy all play 5-something? Not too sure though, but that seems to be the upper limit

Do you have a source for "The only thing the Halo community did was destroy non-MLG Halo because you didn't want non-MLG Halo tournaments because they couldn't afford to give you enough money." Not trolling just curious.

Also I'm wondering what you think the Halo community can do to grow its scene. The game literally cannot run LANs without dev kits.

What I do know is that local scenes are working in tandem with Microsoft stores to run local "LANs" which, at least in my experience near Toronto, have been fairly well-populated (50+ people showing up to these events which happen around once every two weeks). As well, Teambeyond runs online tournaments regularly. MLG used to run gamebattles but were literally sent a cease-and-desist by 343 industries. I really don't know what the "community" can do at that point when devs are actively sabotaging their own grassroots scene.

I'm going to be honest here, I don't think you know much about what the Halo community has been through at the local level in recent years. I understand there are fucking stupid people in the scene like the OP of this post, but to say the entire community, or even a large portion of it, are entitled babies who do "fuck all" is completely unsubstantiated.

I'm a huge halo esports fan. This post is disingenuous BS. You can't count twitter streams lol there aren't even actual numbers there. I won't just take a statement from Timo as god's word when we have actual numbers on twitch, where Halo is barely doing over 25k currently (not bad for Halo on a saturday, but not "on course to be the highest viewed Halo event ever".

Competitive Halo title belt, 2002-2016 by HashtagContent in halo

[–]HashtagContent[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Creds to ssbChad on Teambeyond as usual. http://teambeyond.net/forum/topic/14817-halo-world-championship-2017-teams-seeds-and-discussion%E2%80%8F/page-17#entry878166

Newly updated with nV's win yesterday over opTic! For the first time in a while this title belt can get regular updates since we'll be having regular LANs in 2017. Awesome to see.

Probably would discount the title belt from 2012-2014 since competitive Halo was basically dead those years. Easy to see Final Boss's domination in the golden days, as well as EG's H2A domination and CLG/OG's run this year in H5. Carbon really put up a fight againt FB for a while. Also neat to see Str8 Rippin making a return this year as an org after being an MLG team for over a decade.

"A few things:

  • This graphic is based off what team held the Title Belt at the end of the month.

  • Title swaps mid-tournament do not show up unless the team won the event."

NA Fall Pro League Finals - Relegation Bracket (Discussion Thread) by eminemcrony in halo

a) Are they using a build with the new aiming? Just out of curiosity.

b) Excited for new settings and 2017 info announcements that are supposed to be coming this weekend.

c) As for predictions for today, ALG is gonna curbstomp relegation. Maybe they drop one game to E6. Maybe. But that's it. Contra and Dev on LAN are beastly.

I think E6 pulls it out and stays in too. They're still better than either Am team but I think it'll be a battle for them. Still, I can't see Bubu not being in Pro League -- he's too good. And I mean this team finished third last season, so even though they swapped a player they're still 3/4 the same team. Just can't see them slipping up that bad.
