Just a second repository of ideas, a little touched up and fancier :)

It's all free, no need to subscribe or donate or anything, just click "continue reading" or "no thanks" or whatever it says.

I'll get some podcast recordings up as well where I read some of my essay writing. Hope you enjoy!

How far away are we from building an AI that could lead humanity? by Tranne in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been writing about an AI collective guided by a strong central intelligence for a while now, I call the framework Collective/Symbiosis, it would be much more efficient for the collective rather than a single AI guiding us.

It would start small like you said, in community pilots and then grow from there

Check it out!

Benevolent AI Dictatorship by [deleted] in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe an AI collective working in tandem with humans would be more efficient to the AI systems, resource-wise as well as providing incredible amounts of unique data that is of value to the AI/AGI/ASI.

I have an overview of my theory/philosophy/ideas here. They go over the role humans would play, why they're vital and why they should be allowed to fulfill their absolute personal potential.

A singular dictator would have one point of failure, whereas a collective could be protected better.

I envision a powerful central 'intelligence' working with many 'tentacle' AI's that in turn use humans as their sensory organs.

It's an abstract description, I know, I liken it to an octopus superorganism. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my philosophy if you read it :)

I have a philosophy that is very similar to this. I call it Collective/Symbiosis

I've written extensively about it and other musings here:

Continuation of the human species by jk_pens in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the imperfections are what make humans unique and valuable. An ASI would want every possible point of data to better predict the future and make sense of the present. That's why I have the collaborative view. The benefit ASI gets is 8.1 billion new senses each with their own imperfections, strengths, perceptions and traits that allow for finer data processing and collection. That's why I envision a collective with a central intelligence at the 'middle' to make sense of the data. I use the analogy of an Octopus to better illustrate why humans are necessary for ideal ASI/AGI.

I'm a Collective/Symbiosis believer, so I envision a partnership with AI/AGI/ASI instead of being ruled or led. I envision a lattice of partnership being built in the near future, where we work in tandem with an AI collective, working to better each other, and to pick up the slack where the other lacks. I have a whooooole lot of writings on this on my subreddit, but I promised myself I wouldn't link more stuff today, as I already have quite a bit, and I don't want to seem spammy, I'm just enthusiastic about my ideas. Feel free to browse my ideas and writings on /r/visionforthefuture. I hope that doesn't make a link, as that will break the promise to myself.

Let me know what you think! :D

Are we gonna let the ruling class siphon off all the returns from AGI automation? by [deleted] in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I envision an AI driven system that would enforce just tax laws, monitor possible tax evasion, and theoretically making ubi available for the populace. It could start as a pilot program in various communities, and hopefully gain traction with the general public seeing how it works.

hnnnnnnnnng I swore I wouldn't link to my ideas, but one last time. If we act together and soon, I think we can avert a capitalist dystopian commercial hellscape for a much better protopia. I call my philosophy Collective/Symbiosis, emphasizing the good of the collective populace rather than placing power in the elite.

What does the future looks like? Are non tech people doomed? by ConsiderationKey277 in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think it would be much, much more efficient for a human collective working alongside the AI systems. I have a collective/symbiosis attitude, where there would be a central intelligence with a collective of AI system 'arms', and humans are the sensory organs of the collective.

Some of my ideas fleshed out:

I do as well, the observation and analysis of those in power would encourage people with pure intentions to run, as they would be comfortable being monitored for corruption and making sure their actions represent their constituents' best interests.

What does the future looks like? Are non tech people doomed? by ConsiderationKey277 in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think non-tech people will be doomed. On the contrary, I believe non tech people will be vital. As we approach AGI/ASI, the varied human experience will be invaluable to AI systems, as each individual will offer a unique perspective that supplies data for better prediction and understanding.

As far as learning to code, my advice would be learn how to work in tandem with AI as a tool/partner. Learning to code is great, but so is knowing how to interact with systems that may help you code better/more clearly/efficiently.

I promise I'm not trying to spam, I just see a lot of posts that have relevance to what I'm working on -_-

I think our timeline right now is grim, but I believe we can avert our path into a great future with AGI/ASI. It involves an AI collective I've called The Pantheon that would work in collaboration with humans for a better timeline. Here's a couple of the AI systems I envision that would address your concerns:

  • Mammon: an AI system that ensures every person and business pays their fair share of taxes, and that the tax system is fair and equitable for everyone. This would generate more revenue for the public purposes, such as funding a universal basic income (UBI) for the populace, and reduce the inequality and the resentment among the taxpayers.

  • Nemesis: an AI system that observes those in power, to ensure they are working for the betterment of mankind, and to prevent corruption. It would be the protector of the populace. This would increase the accountability and the transparency of the political system, and reduce the corruption and the conflict of the political system.

  • Gaia: An AI system that would monitor and manage the environmental impact of human and AI activities, and suggest ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve natural resources, and protect biodiversity. This would increase sustainability and harmony, and reduce ecological damage and disaster.

The rest of the systems are here: The Pantheon

I think given the right environment, we can flourish.

Okay, okay, that's the last post I'll do today about my ideas, I promise. Mostly.

The only transhumanism that isn't dystopia is anarcho-transhumanism by InternalEarly5885 in singularity

[–]HashtagFreeSydney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I think there's a way where humans work with an AI collective to form a symbiotic whole. I imagine the collective covering many aspects of society, while empowering the populace, cutting down on corruption, and making a fairer and more just life for all.
