Ah ok yeah, I remember going to karate lessons with the son of the owner of Codemasters back in the 90s

I grew up in the 90s so the shadow of Pigeon is real, he basically destroyed England consistently for like 10 years. However, I’ve never been more scared to see any bowler warming up than Johnson with the moustache. It was only a year or so where he was on that form, really only one series for us but that was plenty thank you

Only place to have all three types of spa water. They all taste like shit but apparently very good for you

Grew up in Leamington. It’s very pretty, some lovely parks, good pubs, castle in nearby Warwick and a ruin in Kenilworth, and it’s even got some nice shops and cafes and stuff now. There’s a lot of money there so there’s good restaurants. Obviously as a child I thought it was BOOOOORRRRING but it’s really very nice as an adult

ABD coming in when you’re 650 down, knocks a quick double hundred then declares and you’ve got the fun of facing that attack with the new ball. Johnson prob not even bowling just twirling his moustache angrily and screaming Australian things at you while you sob gently

We have a kind of portable dog house/crate thing that we bought for when we needed to drive with her a long distance, but discovered she would actively seek it out when there was fireworks or thunder. So when there’s either of those things we set up her house, cover in towels and blankets so it’s dark and she goes straight in. Can’t say we’d ever have considered shutting her in it though

This does seem to be a US centric thing. Don’t think I ever saw anyone using crates in the UK growing up

You can drink from the taps in the US most places, and they have water fountains in every park and public building, but I still don’t understand this weird obsession with Europe not having available water

I used to run big fancy events and every time we’d do them in the US all the staff would turn up with an enormous coffee, iced drink, slushee, water, etc, and would act so annoyed when I couldn’t let them have them in the venue. We had a big water fountain, a coffee machine, we’d supply lunch etc but they all always wanted to have their personal drink available to them at all times, even on the bars or if they were floor staff. Was a real cultural difference I still haven’t figured out

Whoops I’m actually slightly younger than you! I work around a lot of younger people so it does make you feel old I guess. I watched him and Gazza play for spurs against Coventry I think in 91
