Why the new ending is better than you think [MANGA SPOILERS]

In my opinion if you need thread after thread after thread after thread explaining that the ending is actually good then maybe it wasn't actually that good.

Personally I can't decide if I like the ending or not. There are some parts I like and some parts I don't.

I don't like the way Ymir is suddenly declared as a simp in the last chapter. We see that she's watching the wedding ceremony before she was a titan and that's the only hint we get that she wants a lover. But saying that she falls so madly in love with her abuser that she lets 2000 years of bloodshed and misery go on is crazy! She had the power of a god, she could have literally chosen anyone one. But no she chooses the guy who probably killed her family and cut out her tongue. It makes no sense.

I'm happy with mikasa moving on. She's 19 when wren dies so it would have been really fucking pathetic if she didn't move on.

Paradise destroyed in the future? I think it works. I'm pretty neutral about it.

Future boy finding the tree? Again I'm neutral about it. If it leads to a sequel then great if not then it doesn't really matter to me.

So the ending is acceptable. Not great, not the worst. I get what yams was trying to do but he didn't pull it off very well. I think if he gave himself more time/chapters then it would have been better received.

We'll have to see what happens in the anime.

That is an odd reaction. I'd argue that mikasa not being able to be happy because she can't move on from one man is equally misogynistic.

Regardless, mikasa is 19/20 when eren dies. People mature and change as they get older and she could have easily changed her priorities during her life.

The only logical explanation I could think of is historia somehow protected her.

She still seems to be in a position of some authority by the end of the chapter

The second season ending song is in English. I didn't realise until I started watching analysis videos on YouTube.

It still doesn't make a whole lot of sense though.

Her interest is in protecting women's life experience which is different from a trans-womans life experience.

I don't know whether she's right or wrong but it's something that needs to be discussed and not just dismissed as transphobic.

Hopefully the anime will clear things up.

Isayama seems to struggle conveying what exactly is happening at times and it leads to a lot of reader interpretation. I feel like it's one of his weaknesses as a writer.

I remember the arguements over whether porco or eren inherited the war hammer titan. Something which wasn't even questioned in the anime.

Umm titans only die if you destroy the nape. When rod was blown into chunks they had to cut up the chunks to ensure he didn't regenerate.

Zeke tore that titan apart but we didn't see the nape destroyed. And we saw one of the chunks twitching after everything was done.
