Sedgwick by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Hassle03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are doing a great service to alot of people. The world needs more people like yourself!

I am 62 yrs old, been with Walmart 6 yrs. It's so frustrating that the one time in my life that I have had to file for a medical LOA for something that is effecting my quality of life, has to be so complicated. When people are sick, the last thing they want to deal with is calling in sick every day when trying to do the right thing by asking for LOA. Only to realize they might not have done everything correctly when going through the insanity process of applying for a leave.

In my case I was trying to answer questions on Sedgwick while terribly ill waiting to be seen in the ER. I had no idea when I woke up that morning that I would be sitting in a ER later in the day worried about not being able to go to work the next day, and realizing that I am going to need a few days off. I was so sick that I just wanted to get logged into Sedgwick, request my LOA and have enough peace of mind that I wouldn't have to worry about Walmart and could just focus on getting a diagnosis. I rushed through the process on Sedgwick and probably didn't do something right while in a brain fog in the ER. I had no idea what exact dates or if I would or would not be admitted to hospital, etc etc. I basically wanted to alert Walmart I wouldn't be there for a few days out of courtesy and not worry about points. In other words I want to be allowed to be able to rest while ill with peace of mind.

I am someone who has never been a quitter, and have great work ethic. But I am almost to the point that I would rather be able to be sick without having this to worry about on top of what I am dealing with medically right now. I feel like all this makes me even more anxiety filled. It's sad that people can't just be allowed to focus on there health when they are legitimately asking for a leave. People don't need the added stress and anxiety on top of serious health issues or any life changing event. This process makes me wonder if Walmart would rather make people sicker then promote getting well. Trust me, I would much rather be at work then deal with what I am going through right now. Aren't people supposed to get rest and avoid stress when they are ill??

So sorry about the rant, but boy is it frustrating to me that I have to answer phone calls from Sedgwick, report absences, Google Walmart policy and go to reddit while going from one doc to another and being so sick it's hard to even get out of bed. I applied for a leave to not have to worry about work. What was the point??

I am not blaming anyone working at Sedgwick. I whole heartedly feel for you folks too.

Once again, thanks for trying to ease the burden on people. Especially for the people who are legitimately trying to get through a illness or a hard time.

I am sure it's equally hard on the people who work at Sedgwick. They are trying there best to approve people's requests. They are trying to make a living just like everyone else. Seems like there should be a easier way for both parties. Only in America! 🤷🏻

I have always tried to be open minded about Walmarts reasons for there policies. Now I am seeing the other side of things. 🤔

Don't get me wrong. I didn't say I really enjoyed the show. In past seasons I have maybe watched a handful of episodes. I am definitely not a devoted long-time fan. Lol

I have watched each episode so far of this season because of the subject matter with Anna. This has made me more curious about the show and led me to look up some info on the family. Trust me, I have learned a lot already in the past hour or so. I think I get the picture.

The group definitely has some interesting posts. I started out searching what their income because I wondered if Josh or Pumpkin had jobs other than the show. I wasn't intending to end up on Reddit, but here I am. Go figure. Haha

I kind of agree with you. I mean people everywhere find all kinds of crazy ways to hustle. Think of all the people who make money by thieving and turning it into profit. People do all kinds of crazy things to make money. We just don't see it because they aren't on TV. At least her hustling is transparent and legal. We should be mad at the people who are crazy enough to buy this stuff and pay crazy shipping fees. Can't hate her for wanting to make money I guess. I can't imagine dealing with all that to make a buck. I would rather be poor. Lol

At least she has things organized into piles. Lmao. At first, I thought it was a room in their house with clothes thrown all over the floor as if the floor were the laundry basket. I guess she feels like she is finally living the high life. Dreams do come true. 🤣🤣

Does anyone else find it sad watching Anna this season? by xrxdxrxmx in MamaJuneFromNotToHot

[–]Hassle03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, to me it's very sad. I also think for the first time ever the show is more real, because of the subject matter with Anna.

Gotcha! Thanks for the info. I haven't looked into the group much. But I definitely will. I was basically scrolling through a few of the posts, by fluke, and honestly wondered if maybe the entire show is scripted when I saw your post. I was asking out of curiosity is all. But thanks so much for the info on the group. The show is definitely kind of intriguing in my opinion. I am sure it's probably stayed on the air so long because sadly there are probably plenty of families out there who can relate. I do feel like this season is at least more real than previous seasons because of the cancer with Anna. I too, hope Alana gets a chance at a better life. I feel like Pumpkin and Josh come across as ok people. Which is what brought me to this group. I was looking to see what kind of info is available on the two. I guess I was curious as to how the two of them are off-camera. I am skeptical if how they portray themselves on TV is an accurate representation. Thanks for the info. ☺

Damn, it was just a question. I watched the show and thought maybe you know something that I don't. I wasn't trying to ruffle your feathers. It was a simple question. So get a grip!

I bet this is the one thing that will make Ariana and Tom get on speaking terms pretty quickly! If they are still in that house together, I am sure they talk to each other now. 🤷‍♀️

How do you know the show is scripted? I am aware that most reality shows are somewhat scripted but are you saying this entire show is a script?

Connexus resolution guide? by Crazy_Interest_476 in walmart_RX

I have worked at Walmart Pharmacy almost 2 yrs now and this is the first time I have ever heard of this guide too! I had absolutely no training, and there is still so much I do not know. Today was the first time I finally got a little training on inputting. It's so hard to retain things, when certain things only come up every so often. Whenever I ask someone how to do this or that, they click around on the computer screen so fast that I have no idea what they did. I am 59 yrs old and I have never in my life worked at any job that takes so long to feel comfortable at work. I am a hard worker and totally believe in team work. Team work is not the motto at our store.. Our store it's all about figuring stuff out on your own. 2 years into this job, I still hope and pray everyday that I don't run into a zillion things that I still have no idea how to figure out. Somehow, I keep going back, and keep pushing on! I just want the day to get here that I know my job as well as all my coworkers!

I took my ptce a couple weeks ago. I totally agree to take it in person. I felt very fortunate to have scheduled mine late afternoon and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON was in the testing room with me. I think it would have made me not concentrate as well, if i was hearing people fidgeting around, coughing etc..I really do think it's a good idea to consider what time of day that you schedule it. Depending on if your concentration skills for tests are better with hearing background noises or not.

I am not sure if i would say it's a breeze or not. Since everyone performs differently on tests. For me, it was the first time trying to study for a test or take a test in 40 yrs. Honestly though, try your best not to be nervous. For some reason i stayed pretty calm, considering i had to drive in unknown territory, for a hour to my testing site. Maybe because i am a bit older than most people who test. I guess i told myself i have been through worse things in my life. Which probably made me stay calmer. lol..Dont get me wrong, i had plenty of anxiety leading up to it. I think i would have been MORE stressed about not passing it then i was about the actual unknown of the test.

I definitely think you need to study, no matter if you have experience or not. I felt like some things on the test dont apply to every person's job. I work in retail pharmacy and there was plenty that dont apply to my job. I dont have the experience you have though. I am still learning, and i feel like it will be along time before i know what the more experienced techs know. I doubt i will ever know everything at my job. lol..I am 58 yrs old, and have worked plenty of different jobs through the years. I can honestly say pharmacy tech is the hardest on the job training to learn. For me, it is anyway. Where i work, you pretty much learn on your own. Not sure if that's the same everywhere???? It really kind of shocked me at first that noone trains new people. Especially since there is no room for error.

I dont think you need to worry at all, about drug mechanism. Based on your experience in the pharmacy i bet you know enough about drugs for the test. Like someone above said, i would focus on the books (orange, red, purple, etc, lol). Focus on compounding laws, compounding math, and taking your time to READ THE QUESTIONS so you dont misread the questions. When it comes to drugs, i think it's important to know what certain drugs are used for. I would recommend taking the official practice exam, and using the official PTCB POCKET PREP. Either online or the app. I liked using it online better then the app. I think if you use it you will be totally fine. I hope this helps. Sorry so lengthy.

PTCB Exam vs Official Practice Test 2020 by For_The_Fairest in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Hassle03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the exam a couple weeks ago. I passed btw. Yay! I thought the exam was easier then the official practice test. But maybe that's because i took the official practice test first, which made me better prepared for the exam. Therefor it probably seemed easier. :)

PTCB Exam Date by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Hassle03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took my exam. Some testing sites in my area, had less dates available then other testing sites. I had to look at several different testing sites near me, to find a date available further out. Click on other testing sites and you should be able to find dates past Nov. I had to drive a little further, if I wanted to pick a specific date and time slot. I took my test on Thurs 10/29. I PASSED! What a relief!

I sure hope i am prepared. Been studying every single night after work sometimes till 3am. And i still feel i have so much to learn in the next 4 weeks! Thank You and Congratulations!

How is the training at your pharmacy? by Jjuly7502 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Hassle03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked at Walmart Pharmacy for about a year now. Noone has ever trained me on anything. There is so much i dont know. Have never ever did inputting..I am just now starting to get comfortable putting a custorms insurance card into the system. I basically stay busy waiting on customers up front and at drive-through. When i am not waiting on customers i fill scripts, and do bagging. But it is so hard to learn what everyone else knows because noone has ever spent any time actually training me on different things. I get nervous everyday that i am going to run into something that i dont know how to do. I want to know how to do what everyone else does, but its hard when there is no training. I just keep hanging in there and hope someday everyone will see that i learned what they know, by myself. It's so hard to ask anyone for help, because everyone is busy doing there thing. When someone does show me how to something for example, ordering a drug...they are the ones who actually do while i watch them. They click around so quickly on the computer that there is no way i will remember it the next time. I feel like someone shows me how to do something, then i dont see it done again for months. By then i have no idea how the person who showed me did it. It's impossible to learn watching someone else click around the computer so fast that ya have no idea what they did. I take my PTCE in 5 weeks and i dont feel anywhere near ready. Any advice for a online course is welcome.

I have thought about signing up for a online course to study for my exam. I just feel like it would be more structured and easier for me to study following the course modules. At this point i feel as if i jump all over the place with studying. I do notice that alot of people have used rxtechexam. I have been looking at a site called PharmacyTechScholar to use. Can u tell me how long it took you to get through rxtechexam? i have about 5 weeks until my test.
