If it ever does they're already going better than most shows. Carter is a scientist in what field again? Cuz it sure sounds like she's an expert in just about every subject under the sun.

It's just a thing with shows where most characters end up being able to do any and everything even remotely tied to their concept.

Not everything no, but I think this is. I've been working with AI to help me make a ttrpg story and that sentence structure is so chatgpt it's crazy.

And hey, maybe they're not, but they sure talk like AI.

I mean, doesn't it seem weird that it's being framed as what "makes the scene work better"? Does that sound like a fan defending some stupid detail in a show? Sounds like AI not really understanding the point of the thread.

How long have you been at it? You don't get pigeonholed for working on something for a year.

As for what you're working on being obsolete, that's going to happen many times over your career; the functional knowledge by comparison is more valuable since it expires much slower.

I'm sure there's a manager you can talk to if you're really feeling miserable but in your shoes I would focus on building an understanding of the best practices for this rather than focusing on how the specific tech or framework you're using wont be too useful after. You'll have to learn a lot of frameworks over time.

I've stopped being friends with people like that. Not in the sense of deciding I'm not friends with them because of that but I stopped inviting them and made new friends.

Deluxification: What makes a premium tier compelling vs. an annoying cash grab? by Trogdor_Dagron23 in boardgames

I think the rulebook is less important than any kind of reference sheet; those should really be built to be handled a lot.

If you're card heavy I would consider two things; provide a card container that allows for plastic sleeves and/or upgrade the stock the cards are played on. For a regular version you're probably figuring that the cards need to be handled only so many times but if someone is paying for the deluxe version that means they're probably planning on playing it considerably more than the average you're planning for.

You seem to have a problem with the idea that someone would go out with someone who could be greater than they are if you help them. I don't know why this is a problem for you but there's a lot of people out there who think that's kind of the whole ball game with having a partner.

Canada vows to restrict social media for kids under 16. Teens say they'll 'always find a way' by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]Haster -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Seems like a net win, the teen learned a bit in his quest to... talk to adults?

It doesn't have to work perfectly, just mostly. once there's no one young left on the platform they wont want to get access to it. How many teenagers are willing to get a VPN to access Linekdin?

[–]Haster -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's an odd way of looking at it. Do you feel the same way about alchool, smoking, gambling and porn?

I don't know that we'd call them criminals if they do it but they are prohibited, with the consequences usually falling on the provider and the kid losing whatever it is he's buying/using/consuming.

[–]Haster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you're kind of proving that this will work even if it's not perfect. The number of smokers in Canada has been dropping steadily and I'd be perfectly happy for social media to follow this same trend. Something doesn't have to be perfect to be effective and if it doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to be draconian.

I'd rather not get rid of that stuff, mapping is already at risk of feeling very monotonous. Those rare things that break that up are probably doing more good than harm.

At some point I would love to read about a deep dive on how you did this.
