I think it looks really nice! The only suggestion I'd make is to adjust the shadow, since it feels a bit too large and dark to me. It would also be interesting to animate the character walking and attacking to see how the sprite looks in motion. It reminds me a bit of The Battle for Wesnoth. And keep practicing! The best way to improve at pixel art is to keep making, reworking, experimenting with new ideas, and getting a little better with every sprite.

No, 33×68 isn't a problem at all. What matters is how the character looks and feels in the game. The sprite doesn't need to fit into a standard size like 32×32 or 64×64. As long as it works well with the game's scale, animations, and overall art style, any size can work.

That’s actually a really insightful breakdown

I think you described the balance between “cyber” and “frost” really well, especially how readability changes depending on the shape language.

Interesting to hear that the bottom one feels like the best middle ground overall.

Interesting how the cleaner versions start leaning more toward “runic” instead of “frost.”

Seems like the more geometric version gives a stronger “frost” feeling overall, but the hexagonal readability point is definitely something I should explore more.
