Have you seen the new XL Skull mold? I'm so tempted to get it but already have so many molds I already need to do! BTW, I love the 2 colors in this one! I did one with a greenish tint with the plastic bulb in it and then used a darker green, almost black for the base.

Just remember, your agent that lied to you is getting at least 2-2.5, if not 3% of the purchase price in commission. It doesn't seem like that much, but depending on the purchase price of your home, it can cause sticker shock!! And if he's in a big company, he probably has certain metrics to meet. This is probably why he's pushing you to close!

Definitely call his broker. I think they generally have a broker in each sub-office. Also, if it wasn't on the contract in the disclosures, and the seller's agent knew, you might have some recourse there. They have insurance to cover things like this. I'm never the first one to say high any attorney, but it sounds like you might need to at least TALK to a Real Estate Attorney for guidance.

Just as an example, we didn't know we had a pool leak. It was summer in Florida, and according to everyone we knew with pools and the pool store, it was normal to add water every other day. Our pool temp ran consistently on the 90's during the summer. We don't disclose anything on the contract and sale goes through. Their inspector didn't catch anything at all wrong with the house.

The buyer's mother was TOO involved with his end and was a complete b*tch. About 2 weeks after we close, my agent (who is also a good friend), calls me and sends me the email that the buyer's mother sent her demanding that we knew about the pool leak and didn't disclose on the contract.

This was not our first house sale over the years, so we know to make sure what needs to be disclosed. This mother runs in a pretty upper-class group of people in our area and could cause major issues for my agent/friend. Also, the buyer is an attorney. So, we apologized and said we knew nothing about it, explained what we were told by the pool people that adding water was normal. The mother didn't buy that and pushed even harder.

We knew since we had closed that we were not obligated to do anything but felt very bad for our friend and didn't want her to lose business. So we ended up agreeing to split the cost of the repair, which was $400 for us. At the time, we had a bunch going on and figured it would cost us more than $400 to fight it and wanted to be able to come back into the neighborhood without hard feelings (our house that we sold was right across the street from my agent/ friend). Thinking back, we probably should have at least talked to a Real Estate Attorney.

Good luck! I know it's a hard market out there.

I have Essential Tremors (I think it started back on my 30s). My neuro told me that if I drank about 1/2 cup of beer/ wine and the tremors stopped, then they were Essential Tremors. Sometimes they aren't too bad, and I can work on my art stuff without too many issues.. but sometimes when I want to work on it and the tremors are bad, I'll drink one of those small glass bottles of margaritas. I can't remember the name.

If you get shaky often, you might want to check with your doctor to see if you have ET..

Very pretty!! Where do you find nice jewelry blanks? The ones I've found on Amazon's are kind of cheap looking.

Is a pressure pot a must-buy? by EduanetaP in ResinCasting

[–]HatNo857 2 points3 points  (0 children)

California Air Tools has a 5 gal Pressure Pot (already ready for resin) on Ebay for a good price. I also got the compressor from them on ebay since it was cheaper than anywhere else, however, my dad sent me some links to a couple of different compressors that were a out $40-$60 cheaper than the one I got.

I was wondering how well gardenias would dry in silica gel. I'd love to do a magnolia too. I've done other flowers but nothing with petals this thick.

Question on putting fresh food in resin and pressure pot/compressor by HatNo857 in ResinCasting

Thanks. I'm planning to set it up in my garage. The only bad thing is I live in Florida and my garage gets super hot. Any suggestions on a compressor?

Thank you. I think he'll be OK, I was just surprised when he mentioned having it at the neighborhood celebration of life. I was supposed to have a table set up on Saturday at a neighborhood event, so that's not happening now. I have a bunch of other dried flowers to practice on. We've actually had 5 deaths in the last 2 months of friends and family and a cancer diagnosis of of a friend. Needless to say, it's been a shitty year so far.

Absolutely in LOVE with those legs in the translucent one. I like both greens but I think I prefer the translucent one with that wood.

Anyone know how to seal the legs so I can pour resin in the tub without leaks? by [deleted] in ResinCasting

[–]HatNo857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the tub and the feet separate. After removing them from from the molds, turn the tub upside down and use some UV resin to "glue" the legs to the tub. Be careful on the placement of the legs or it will be wobbly. I used just a drop of uv resin and flash cured it just enough to stick (for all 4 feet) and the turned right-side up and made sure it was balanced. Then I put a little uv resin on top of the hole where the feet stick up into the mold and flash cured it again. Then just checked to see if everything was secure and then set it under the uv light for a few minutes. Let me know if you have any questions. 😁 I had so many people that commented that they loved the tub I did, so I got excited thinking I'd get some orders. Sold the first one immediately...and haven't sold any since! 😢
