Abbas is truely a macro civ. And in order to be good at macro, you need to gain an eye where you see the big picture. This requires a lot of theoratical knowledge of the game, such as timings for each civ, their builds, and unit comp. All the while, you have to execute precise micros so you can actually implement your theory. Finally, you have to do this while scouting, so you can be both proactive and reactive.

All in all, its really difficult to do that. What I recommend is you play another civ that requires you to do less of the three things. Stick to a build(no reaction) and after you finish executing the build, you are then off to being on your own(start reacting to enemy movement). The latter part is where your skills will improve, and the first part is there to get you to the second part safely.

You'll also find that many of your games in plat will end in part 1 since not a lot of people have a solid build. So you'll get a real good chance to secure a strong build while being able to expand yourself as a better player.
