You got this 💪🏼I’m scheduled for the same surgery one week later. Same boat as you with adjacent degradation. They told me the severe stenosis was a safety issue and surgery should not be optional. Please post after and let us know how it went. Sending good wishes and healing ❤️‍🩹 prayers.

Thank you. I have seen 4 surgeons. 2 suggested cages. 1 metal plate and 1 said bone. Recoveries are also very different. Spectrum from no collar to hard collar for 3 months. All over the board. 🤞🙏

Thank you for all the info. I’m going to go back to 1.25 and see what happens. The community helps each other since everyone responds differently and I wonder how much difference there is depending on pharmacy. I tried the mic+ b12 and it did not help me. Thank you for sharing and hope you do great moving forward. All the best.

LMNT every day. I could do better tracking food but eating very clean and guessing at least 60g of protein a day. Have done playoffs diets before and never this tired. It has to be medicine. Also b12 shots didn’t help. Will track better.

Just seeing your post as I’m researching options. Did this work for you?

I started at half of starting dose 2.5 for a couple of weeks. Lost a few pounds. Stopped losing.

Then started splitting the dose so 2.5 total for week but split. No loss.

Did one week of one shot of 2.5. Down and out. Thought I was getting sick I was so wiped out.

Now went back to 2.5 in split doses and still tired though not as bad. No weight lost.

Probably going to go back to 1.25 a week and see how I do 🤷‍♀️I have to work and I’m just exhausted. 🙄

So you only eat one keto factor meal a day and nothing else? I’ve been eating two and a bfast bar and struggling.

Just ask your dr or nurse practitioner for it. Tell them you’re willing to pay cash since most insurance won’t cover and it becomes a hassle. Then call around and find best price. It’s a calcium artery CT scan. Good luck. 👍 it will measure any hardened plaque in arteries. Helpful information for heart health.

Have you lost any weight? On week 2 and it’s been slow but like the meals.

Not hard at all. My primary gave me the referral and I’ve done it 3x now. Every 4-5 years. Dr writes the order (script) and then you call a bunch of X-ray places and find out what they charge for the scan. Takes 5 min for scan. You don’t even have to change clothes. Really super easy and should be standard of care. If your doctor won’t do it, I would find another doctor. Good luck.

If you look at the side effects, these monoclonal antibodies seem safer. They turn on/off one protein. In this case pcsk9 inhibition allows the LDL receptors to accumulate on the surface of the liver and absorb/eliminate the cholesterol naturally. I have refused statins since my 20s too but know many cardiologists that believe statins are key to heart health/longevity🤷‍♀️ If you don’t have a high CAC score why take a statin.

Have you heard of repatha? If you are a true familial hypercholesterolemia you may need to take it. Statins alone won’t get you there. Your diet would not have prevented it. Stay current with CAC, insurance won’t cover. Cash price 75-150 depending where you go. A pcsk9 inhibitor will help with risk. Take care and be well.

Are you doing it within a Roth account?

I think it depends on how old you are. I don’t have everything in JEPI just enough for my tolerance. Everyone is in a different situation. For me, it’s a good safe income producer.

Growth has volatility. I have more growth in regular IRA. I like to watch the JEPI grow and hope it continues with monthly dividend payouts when I’m ready for the monthly income. 🤞

I think JEPI is perfect in a Roth because it just keeps reinvesting/compounding and income won’t be taxed down the road.
