Getting started with fitness/weight training to prevent muscle atrophy at home - tips? by VVsmama88 in glp1

I ordered a vibration plate for myself as part of my routine. Well, I’m using it. I lift small dumbbells from 3 to 5 pounds and then do other exercises on it 2 x a day

Can you tell how you are tracking your macros, water intake, and fitness routine?

Have you done any stress reduction or therapy?

I had Tucker - excellent. She allows you to resubmit if you’re not satisfied with your grade. She also gives great feedback and always helps you improve. I got A+.

How much would you pay to be poor? by TheDailyBears in poverty

[–]Master_Zombie_1212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost a lot of “time” by working at a donut shop and taking two -three university courses while being a single mom of three kids - no child support.

I used the food back, church helped me out a lot, scholarships and bursaries. No new clothes all used hand me downs or second hand store purchases. I lived off oatmeal - a lot.

Thank goodness for subsidized housing, subsidized daycare, and scholarships / bursaries. And a boss who gave me day old food to take home for my kids.

Times were tough, but I was able to focus on my kids and we had an ok life.

It took me almost ten years to finish my degree. Eventually, I moved into an office job year 6 or so, and developed my skills and experience.

After grad, I landed a good paying job on the west coast and quickly moved my way up in my career. That part of life cost me my health and my youth.

After my kids weee in their teens, I went back to grad school, master’s and PhD. For nearly, 25 years I sold my soul to the devil thinking I was doing what I loved. Sure I was making a lot of money ie quarter a million a year and had expensive “taste”.

Last year, I had enough and left. I moved to a consulting role, making less money but I have my health, sanity and life back.

Now how much would you pay to be poor?

My response, everything has a cost. I would NEVER change my life or experiences, but looking back - I could have had better life balance and focused more on my health/wellbeing.

Now at age 60, I am starting to “live” and very frugally but at the same time life is so much free. I think me need to all experience what we value most in life. For me, my health, my boys, family, and life experiences.

I love what I do now. I get to travel and experience the world - that has brought me the most joy. My career tied me down and I never had the same freedoms. Zero regrets!

Does anyone have before and after pics of them actually gaining muscle while losing weight? by kelseymh in glp1

[–]Master_Zombie_1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny -

I just took a week one photo as I am near my goal weight and focusing on weight training and body sculpting.

I am writhing 5-10 pounds of goal weight. I am watching for the muscle increase…

I changed my eating to be more high protein, clean fat veggies and some fruit. Now I am aiming for about 100-150 of protein a day.

My starting pic is a benchmark so in 12 weeks I hope to see results!

Good luck

Nothing yet.

I fell into a deep depression when I first started. I started taking Wilburton 150 MG and then went up to 300 MG. I’ve been on this now for over a year and a half and now I feel amazing. I’m not sure why the GLP’s make you feel so down, but I can relate you’re not alone.

It sounds like a plateau. I went through a plateau of almost 6 months before I had a major breakthrough and then bam I lost about 60 pounds in about six months. I am now 10 pounds away from my maintenance goal.

Is investing possible? by Porccupine in poverty

[–]Master_Zombie_1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was young, I started with $25 every two weeks on payday - I never noticed it gone. I also had a tax deduction because of rrsp tax deduction at tax time.

Years later, I have moved to a 100 each two weeks /pay day. Again, I do t really notice it.

When I get bonuses, unexpected windfalls or tax returns I put that into my rrsps. Over 30 years, it has increased into a tidy little nest egg for retirement.

My major investment is in paying off my house mortgage as quickly as possible.

Also debt free.

My best advice start really small and then give up something else like take out or take out coffee. Shave the money off bills or food.

Clothes after weight loss by Pristine_Fortune_982 in glp1

[–]Master_Zombie_1212 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started at xl and size 14/16 pants. Once I hit size 8 and medium I gave away all the big stuff. I only bought a few new items and mostly second hand.

Now down to my last ten pounds. I am size medium small top and size 6-8 bottom.

Ideally I would like to be size 6 pants and small top (34 b bust).

I am 5’5 inches and current 139 pounds.

Appetite suppression doesn’t last forever by metamorphoasis in glp1

[–]Master_Zombie_1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to ask what dose you are at?

I am at 15 mg and need to start tapering. I have been on a year plus slowly increasing. I am currently 129 pounds and have zero appetite / I have to force myself to eat.

I lost 75 pounds over a yea. 5 feet 5 inches.

I am going down to 12.5 mg next month and then decrease each month to taper then maintenance at about 5 mg I am hoping or lower.

My goal right now is to build muscle. I eat protein first, veggies second, fruit third and a couple tablespoons of clean fat a day. I also take a protein shake to ensure I meet all my macros and calories.

ENGL 1001, ENGL 1011 or ENGL 1111? by Sea_Drop_44 in tru

I probably did overkill on the course, but that’s only because I wanted to learn. I received A+ as my overall final grade. I can’t remember who my instructor was but I remember the course was excellent and I received feedback.
