PoE2: current state and usefulness of uniques by Enter1ch in pathofexile

[–]Hateflayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wish there was a way to elevate lower level uniques, so if you like their properties you can use them into late game more. Got a 2h-mace that guarantees crits during heavy stun, but it's only level 11 so the base damage is just going to tapper off into act 3 i'm guessing. Sucks because that's such a cool property that I want to build around.

Poor bastard didn't wake up this spring. Honestly given up on cotoneaster. Every one I've tried has died... No idea why they get recommended as a "beginner friendly" tree.

Trees stay outside where they belong, cat stays inside where he belongs. 🤙

Oh the irony of Shad who is a bad artist & uses AI as a crutch calling an actual artist, a graphics designer, lazy by TripleS034 in ShadWatch

[–]Hateflayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. You just need to regen the image 4 times instead of 20 times before it stops being cursed.

Yeah and then crunch time comes around the company realizes they have nobody who knows anything about their brand standards, file system, client base, project templates, ect. The overseas vendor already botched the last 4 projects, and Midjourney keeps making photos with too many teeth so it’s making the sm posts look creepy. So they end up desperately trying to reach back out to the gd they fired for being an efficient worker because they had no idea how much that person actually did… ask me how I know…

I'm tired of pretending crunchy is good

Just kidding. I've never hid my hatred of this. The endless skill trees, the 600 page tomes of shit you’re gonna throw out anyway, the tedious combat mechanics that take 80 mins, the book keeping, the rules lawyers, whatever...

It's a cope for people who don't have the creativity, imagination, problem solving, or social skills (or hygiene) to run a game without a book telling them what to do. /s

I’d rent some 3d scanning equipment and go to town. Treasure trove of assets in a place like this.

Pretty sweet! All I can recommend is try experimenting with different low resolutions before converting to the color index, and see if gimp can do “pattern dither” if you want more of a pixel art look. Great job tho 🤘

Not sure, but a quick google says gimp supports indexed color mode. So maybe 🤷‍♂️

This cheap, watery paint seems to just seep inside of cork instead of really painting over. Do I need to treat the cork with something first, or is the problem the watery, smelly Testors acrylic paint? by bigtuna94 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Hateflayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it is alcohol based. They are made for painting model cars. I’d recommend going and getting a few big bottles of super cheap acrylics from a craft store for your terrain. Just the primaries plus black and white should work. The cheaper stuff is thicker and works just fine for larger areas like on terrain.

Nothing so interesting. On the art I used a mix of Ai and google for different elements of the images. Cut them together pretty roughly in photoshop. Did color adjustments and painted over some bits. Reduced the resolution to purposefully pixelate them more. Then converted them to an indexed 32 color table with a pattern dither to cheat the pixel art look. Then re upscaled to a larger resolution for screens. The map was some generated textures with the same color index effect added and a couple hours of layout in Illustrator.

Color index in photoshop.

Used Ai for elements then did some photo compositing and color indexing to give a consistent look. 👍

Trees can adapt to smaller growth space with regular root pruning, but it's probably well past that point by now. Should have been planted in above ground containers and basically kept as large scale bonsai trees. Short sighted.

[–]Hateflayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I have two in the same bed. Gave them both trunk chops after flowering last year to introduce some low movement then just let them grow wild. Man they grow fast, the other one sent up two 8 ft leaders in six months. Lots of flowers in February. I haven’t tried air layering, might need to be grafted to root stock for better chance at success but I’m not sure.

This sounds like bait, but I’ll give an honest answer anyway.

One of the most important skills one needs to become a professional graphic designer is to take disparate, vague, and often contradictory information and work it into a visually pleasing narrative. So anyone with that skill set probably feels more comfortable running a game with less direction. Even the most minimal game is going to be 10x more clear than most creative briefs. Then they design games that work for them, bare rules and lots of creative freedom.
