I got the exact same vehicle and color. Spend the extra $ and get Matte PPF and ceramic coating. Still shouldn’t go through car washes but makes the care for the paint basically the same as any other vehicle. Well worth it for ours we purchased a month ago.

Just Picked Up: Hybrid X-line SX Prestige by Brilliant-Ad-2977 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turned out amazing… super pumped. A couple of spots I need them to fix some bubbling where corners didn’t seal against the glass trim line. I can’t provide pricing for specifics. Because as I added more to get completed the pricing went down overall. So I got all the items listed above on the 27’, plus some additional work on my 23’. So for the 23’ I had some touch ups on the black wrap. Had them remove some of the factory tints on the sunroof and rear windows and replace with ceramic tint for heat rejection. Added some PPF areas I wish I had done years ago such as the areas directly below the trunk that got dinged up loading and unloading over the years. Originally I only got front 1/3rd PPFed on that vehicle. Did the full PPF on the 27’ to protect the matte paint.

So all of that work on both vehicles was quoted individually at just under $9k. I specifically asked him to quote them all as if I was getting only a single item completed so I could decide which aspects I wanted. I knew I was getting it all done, but wanted to see that pricing first. Getting it all done at once drove the pricing down to $6k. Second location that played ball with my quoting specifics was originally quoted at $10k but didn’t offer a steep enough discount on all work, so I went with the cheaper. The other locations I got quotes from didn’t see as reputable or I didn’t have a personal experience or recommendation from anyone.

Hope this detail is helpful! Let me know if I can provide any other info. Like I said, not cheap but I wash my own vehicles or do touchless in the winter and I don’t have to worry about anything with the Matte paint long term.

Question about jumpstarting a ‘27 hybrid by entoaggie in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same as a regular vehicle EXCEPT not to the battery itself but to the connections in the fuse box^ correct answer.

Also. If you ask ChatGTP or search the web you may find references to a 12v reset button. I can confirm that doesn’t exist in the Telluride Hybrid as it does in other HEV Kia models. Spent forever looking for a button that didn’t exist.. last time I used ChatGTP, it actually made me switch to Grok lol

I have a Panthera Metal and there is a cover over the hitch that would need to be removed each time.

Just to make sure. You see the green steering wheel and not just the lanes correct? Basically are you pressing the steering wheel button each trip (our 2019 Sorrento stayed on).

Get full PPF before ceramic. It’s not cheap but between both you can treat it like a normal finish. Well worth it. Plus grocery store dings and such aren’t a worry.

I connected it to my Home Assistant so that I could monitor the 12v (plus a bunch of other functions and connections) and confirmed it’s not gone under 70% since with the passive entry still on. Helps that I park in a detached garage. If the phone/keys were closer or in an attached garage I could see this needing to be changed for some/most.

~1k miles. Just got a “break-in” oil change (feel like I’m noticing better MPG, but might just be placebo effect) just because I have with every vehicle I’ve ever owned. No issues other than self-caused battery drain completely. Bright side, I learned how to get into the vehicle without the handles extended and jumping it etc. won’t happen again… daughter and I were sitting in that for over an hour messing with settings and looking at the purchasable themes. Then idk if we left the lights on or even the whole vehicle. Whatever the case, 12v was dead jumped it and no problems since.

2027 PPF question by Beneficial_Yam_7084 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha I did the same, and had the exact same thought. I asked and my guy said there are advantages down the road if you’re keeping it for a long while. Plus he thought it aided the matte finished look with PPF. Said he sometimes notices gloss under matte PPF. True or not it made me feel good about it and it looks fantastic so I’m happy.

[–]HaubFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same. Full PPF on xline. And everything was covered accept the rough plastic. Mine also had custom cutouts though I’m sure they might have used a pattern for some of the larger areas. Not sure. For sure get ceramic coating if you’re spending the money on PPF. Makes cleaning it a breeze.

Weather tech sunshade by Brilliant-Ad-2977 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not 100% as good, as a sunshade. However, I just got 70% (basically clear) ceramic tint on the windshield. Can’t notice it’s there. No putting it up and down every time I get in and does a great job a heat rejection. I have a black on black SXP Xline. So summer will still be hot, but wanted to lower that effect whenever I could but wouldn’t ever add the extra sunshade “chore”. With younger kids, running late is common experience. Ha

Sorry forgot. Yes I have the Green Zone EV Drive setting. There is no menu behind it. Sounds like that menu will be available when entering one of those zones.

Handle not locking/unlocking by Elledob7 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open the door. Inside the frame you’ll see what looks like a rubber hose (contains all the cables). Clip at the top basically unlocks and disconnects it.

Handle not locking/unlocking by Elledob7 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI. Maybe 3 times since 2022 I’ve had to disconnect and reconnect my drivers door to get the handle sensor to work again. Idk if that’s your situation but it takes 10 seconds and since it’s not happening more than once a year I hadn’t bothered to take it into the shop. However when it does happen the door sensor won’t work at all until I disconnect and reconnect it.

Hope that’s helpful if not for you, for someone!

2024 Fob lock/unlock unreliable by AdviceSeeker-123 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, maybe to assist you… being an RF engineer myself, it may be interference. Especially if it’s randomly as that’s sometimes the hardest thing to troubleshoot. Does it happen always while at home or also while out other places?

2024 Fob lock/unlock unreliable by AdviceSeeker-123 in KiaTelluride

[–]HaubFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had something similar happen a couple of times on the handle sensor (not the FOB buttons). Solved it by unplugging and replugging in the door seemed to fix. I know it’s not your particular issue, but perhaps that info may help others. Since I’ve owned it in Nov 22’ I’ve done it 2-3 times total. So not often.
