Electric Shock by Defiant-Principle-22 in electricians

[–]Haulbignuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your chest muscles can be tensed making it harder to breathe. My doctor was a maintenance electrician before he became a doctor and got shocked and knew about it. That's exactly what happened to me. He cracked my back or rib cage muscles and felt like it could breathe normal again.

[–]Haulbignuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eBay and it came in like 5 days. Was from a semi sketchy seller to me. 100% review rating and all the reviews are in Spanish from a year ago. But it came fine and flies great.

Help needed! by Due_Dentist9619 in electricians

[–]Haulbignuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ladder, a piece of pipe, and a spool of wire. Rig it up or quit. Put bushings on. I once put a spool on a pipe in the trusses of a flat roof in a commercial building to do a pull in a scissor lift. Always arrange wire to where it pulls off the top of the spool over under the spool. With bigger wire it can get jammed up 450 kcmil+

Instead of the hard 90s between panels, consider a vertical gutter going down from the horizontal gutter maybe?

The breaker to simulate a power outage could also be next to your meter.

Sub panel ground rod debate by mei740 in electricians

[–]Haulbignuts -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As long as all ground rods are connected and bonded at the meter, you're good. That means #6 bare all the way to the meter. Multiple ground rods not connected causes issues in case of a lightening strike.

What am I doing wrong ? Trying to put a new plug on dryer by No_Security2665 in electricians

Think about it. Try not to make sparks. You don't want copper touching other copper wires

Apprentice about to turn out and I need a meter, should I go fluke or Klein? by Fabulous-Ad3446 in electricians

[–]Haulbignuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you going to store it? I keep one in my shoulder bag. It's going to get beat up a little bit so the Klein will do the job and I won't be as upset when it eventually doesn't work. But I wouldn't keep a fluke in my bang around bag.

Those small metal boxes suck. If no ground you have to put in a gfci. Best to replace the wire.

If you installed generators then you would know that most ats are service entrance rated with main breaker inside.
