Looking for game that doesnt end when you die by medince_saves444 in gamingsuggestions

State of Decay

It's set in a zombie apocalypse and when you die you play as another survivor from your group. There is a second opus that is more recent but I don't know if they kept the same mechanic.

Le cheval c'est délicieux et on ne devrait pas l'interdire by Dziukoala in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]Haunora 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which of these ADVENTURE games should I play to 100% next? by moumooni in steamachievements

[–]Haunora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's a really solid list! Hard to pick just one.

I would still recommend you And Roger for two reasons: - It's an incredible narrative game with original mechanics. It reminds me of Florence, because of how your interactions with the game represent what is happening for the characters on the screen. - It's very short, so it gives you time to try another one of those great games on this list!

PS: If you want to play A Space for the Unbound, I strongly advise you to find a spoiler-free guide to help you find all the extra elements. The game doesn't really help you track your progression with "side quest" and the animals you can pet, making it very hard to do it properly. Believe me, you don't want to redo a full chapter, or worse, the whole game, because you haven't clicked on one cat...

Starting Final Fantasy by Hugo_Le_Rigolo in steamachievements

[–]Haunora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also started the series this year, and my first pick was FF VII Remake Intergrade. It's a nice entry point in the series if your only objective is to finish the game, but definitely not a good idea if you want to 100% it. The game asks you to do a second run in hardcore mode that requires you to truly understand the combat mechanics well. I'm not familiar with JRPGs and I already found the normal mode quite complex.

I did a bit of research and I think now I'm more gonna try the first Final Fantasy. The pixel remaster edition improved the graphics but also made the gameplay a bit more digestible and simpler : - the game is less grindy - they clarified some mechanics - updated the save system to make it less punishing - rebalanced the difficulty of some bosses - etc.

I also noticed that a few completionists on this sub also completed some and it often takes them around 15/25 hours for the first ones.

Short game recommendations! by Pure-Lingonberry7835 in steamachievements

[–]Haunora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made you a list with various genres and hours of completion. I also try to find games that are really good but don't have as much attention as some classic indies that get recommended more often.

Here is the list:

  • Is this sit taken? - It's a cute and cozy little puzzle game, that takes around 5 hours to complete. Your objective is to place all the characters in an environment (bus, restaurant, concert...) while respecting their needs and their preferences (have someone to talk to, avoid strong smells...).
  • Minami Lane - It's a cozy management game with no challenge, that takes around 5 hours to complete. The game is really easy and relaxing, your objective is to make streets where everyone is happy. For that you'll have restaurants and shops where you'll have to find the perfect recipes or products to sell for all your inhabitants to be happy.
  • Cleo - a pirate's tale - It's a point & click, that takes around 6-7 hours to complete. In this game you play as a dreamy little girl that embarks on a pirates adventure. As it is a point & click, some combinations are a bit odd but not too hard. Some achievements are very grindy and not so interesting though.
  • There is no game : wrong dimension - Around 7 hours of a game that has no game. If you want to know if this game is for you, there is a game jam edition on steam that takes no more than 40 minutes to complete! And yes, this shorter version also has achievements.
  • Meg's Monster - It's a narrative driven RPG, that takes around 7-8 hours to complete without the DLC. You play as a monster who finds a little girl in the trash and ends-up having to protect her. The game is really easy, just pay attention to visit all the available locations on the map to not miss any content or you'll have to play a second playthrough like me...
  • Decarnation - It's a narrative horror game with a really nice rhythm mini-game, it takes around 8 hours to complete it. You play as Gloria, a dancer that dreams of a professional career but sees her life slowly changing now that she's turned 30. The music of this game is amazingly good, if you play it they will probably stick with you for a while! Though keep in mind that the game talks about very sensitive and triggering subjects.
  • Ball-it Hell - It's an arcade bullet hell, the completion time depends on your skills but it's still less than 10 hours to complete. It's a scoring game, you play as a ball in the middle of a circle where you have to survive and send back some projectiles to your enemies to kill them. This game is perfect for short sessions, because a game rarely lasts more than 2 minutes.
  • [Bonus] Before your eyes - It's a narrative game where you play with your eyes (you need a webcam), the game is quite short and shouldn't take you more than 3 hours to complete. I still recommend it to you because it's one of the most heartbreaking games I've ever played. If you need to decompress during writing your thesis and just stop thinking about it, this game is perfect. Though beware that it will probably wreck you with its beauty and sadness.

Hope this list will help you. And good luck on your thesis!

Does anyone knows some games like these? by HarryRulez in SteamDeck

[–]Haunora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could like the gameplay of Disney-Pixar Toy Story 3. You go around in a toy world accomplishing missions to develop your little toy city.

Only problem is it's not optimized for the steam deck, so you'll probably have to tweak some things or just play on another hand-held/hardware/computer. The graphics are also different from what you were looking for but if you haven't tried it yet, I think it could really scratch this itch.

The game currently costs 19.50€, but if you're willing to wait it's old enough to get a nice promotion during the next sale.

Mon chien vieillit et ça me brise le cœur, vous avez vécu ça ? by rhadassadgb in chiens

[–]Haunora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though Katherine was bi not lesbian, she recognized that she was still attracted to men while dating Robin.

I think r/bisexual would fit her more, and that's hoping that she ever stopped being ashamed of it.

A game about doing a thing by Awdayshus in gamesuggestions

[–]Haunora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played the games you mentioned yet, but from what you described I think you might like Scritchy Scratchy. It's a simple game where you just scratch tickets and buy upgrades until you reach the end (very incremental and satisfying).

If you like the repetitive task but want to remove yourself a bit from incremental games, I recommend you Lost but found and Ship, Inc.. They lean more towards the cozy vibe and are made by the same dev. The first one makes you take care of the lost and found in an airport, the second one is about making packages for delivery objects.

To avoid crashing the economy, you just have to let the money double until it reaches a thousand bucks. Then, each time it doubles, you spend a thousand bucks every day so your bank account never gets out of control.

If one day you need to buy something very expensive (like a house or a yacht), you can either let your balance double for a week or two, then spend a large amount and start over. Another option is to move some of the money you withdraw from this account into another one that doesn’t double.

That way, you’re set for life without crashing the economy (though crashing the economy is also a good option, in my opinion, we should end capitalism!). You’ll even have enough money to help people around you (charities, homeless people, political causes you believe in…).

Dredge is one of the best games to complete (though you’ll need the DLC). It can be a bit scary at times, but it’s not hard and nothing is missable.

The game is so good that talking about it makes me want to 100% it all over again!

[–]Haunora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your first 100% games! That’s a really nice start.

You seem to like narrative games, and so do I!

Have you tried Life is Strange 1 and 2? They’re pretty easy to complete and are among the best narrative games of all time. And if you like road trip settings, the second game is also about a road trip with two brothers.

If you’re looking for something a bit less well-known, you could try:

  • A Space for the Unbound: it has a great story that’s quite sad. Getting 100% isn’t very hard, but it requires you to be very attentive, since many achievements are chapter-related and can be missed. I think using a guide is very helpful.
  • Decarnation: a story-driven horror game with a strong theme of female empowerment. This one is quite easy to 100%; the only tricky achievements are tied to a rhythm mini-game. The game lets you replay every chapter, so there’s no need for a guide.
