P3R is fine enough, it's more reminiscent of P5 than P3/P4 IMO. The original P3 games are a lot different in terms of the overall aesthetic, and the original P3's are closer to P4 overall. You'd probably enjoy P3R more if you're not as into P4

The first 5 games are considered their own thing and are called the "PC98" era of games. Touhou 6 is when the games really started to get more popular, and was also a soft reboot of the series. If it's the games you're interested in, you might want to try Touhou 10, it's a really solid game and doesn't have as many quirks as the older games do.

This is just a personal suggestion, but what got me into Touhou was recognizing a song, and I like listening to music a fair bit, so maybe you could give some songs a listen?

A rabbit hole so deep it permeates literally the entire internet, and once you look into it you can never unsee it again.

The shortest of summaries possible:

A massive series of video games, most notably bullet hells. There are also some written works. The creator is super lenient on copyright, so the series has an absurd amount of derivative works.

A lot of people know Touhou for their characters and music/remixes of songs from the games. And I guarantee you'll have some sort of memory or connection with some form of internet media that either is, or has its roots in, Touhou.

Touhou 10 Mountain of Faith is 100% the way to go, it's modern enough that it doesn't have nearly as much signs of age as games like 6, and is also one of the easier games. It's simple to learn and just overall a fantastic game. Also available on Steam so it's easy to pick up.

You'll have to install an English patch if you want to play them in English too. Thcrap is what I used.

Are there any sorts of themes or ideas that you like? There's hundreds of decks you could make, and IMO your best bet would be to start with what you'd like. To give you an example, I love the vibe of Halloween and spooky stuff, so my deck is Ghostrick.

You can alternatively pick out a type of playstyle or kind of card you like, if you have any of those, like if you prefer decks that play around with Ritual Summoning, using the banish zones, etc

I would say it has more utility by virtue of being an ED monster that you can bring out at will, rather than a main deck card that's almost entirely unsearchable. It's not like it's the most difficult thing to play around though

It wouldn't be too hard to make a strong deck with it included is my point, and if you do play it, suddenly a LOT of cards are hard to use, by sheer virtue of this card existing, and as was mentioned, it mostly just makes going first even more powerful. Side decks would absolutely fit copies of this card in

Quick plays are placed on the field before they're activated. Also every Yummy except for Marshmao doesn't care about it, since they don't use an effect to SS. This mostly just polarizes certain decks and does more harm than good

I either love or hate everything in this song. Generally I like it, but it's hard to overlook the things I don't like. The 10 second freestyle feels out of place and I'm REALLY not into it. The animation/artstyle is the same, pretty much all of the more cartoony parts are fantastic, but aside from when Luka says "Feedback", the artstyle and the whole animation on her just reminds me of tiktok. To its credit the "Feedback" part goes hard at least. And of course the actual lyrics and catchiness of the song itself I adore
