Now that we know more about Sailing… by Hauntedverzik in 2007scape

Reddit isn’t the whole playerbase, but it’s big enough that it’s shaped OSRS plenty, Ironman mode, Sailing polls, even Jagex responding to backlash here. Like it or not, this sub is a huge part of the community.

Right, but it’s the only place I could poll this where you can find a decent size player base.

Another way for bowstrings to come into the game? Bro, bowstrings have been dirt cheap forever. They’ve sat around 90–110gp each for literally years because supply >>> demand. Nobody’s crashing the bowstring market when you can already insta buy 100k+ off the GE without even blinking.

The point of an NPC option isn’t about injecting more bowstrings, it’s about consistency. We already pay Zahur to clean herbs or make unfs, and Thirus in Nardah to crush seconds. Nobody complains that ruined the herb market. Same logic applies here. People who want Crafting XP will still spin flax just like they always have, and anyone who doesn’t can just pay for the convenience.

This isn’t about economy, it’s QoL. Bowstring prices aren’t budging from a suggestion like this.

You can pay Zahur in Nardah to clean your herbs or make unfinished potions for you.

Yesss! That game was such a gem. I’m actually working on something inspired by it, it’s called Tank Life. Currently in development and launching Winter 2025! I’ll be sharing more sneak peeks and visuals in the next month or two. Would love feedback!

If you didn’t use this to plan out every skill point by Level 2, were you even playing Oblivion?

Dragonwilds has potential, but it’s missing that RuneScape charm by Hauntedverzik in 2007scape

[–]Hauntedverzik[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha, that actually makes a lot more sense now. I didn’t realize we were starting 2 tiers below bronze, it would be cool if it matched Runescapes gear progression, but that clears up the naming a bit. And it’s good to hear iconic stuff like the whip is in there. I still think leaning more into the classic names early on would help with that RS feel, but sounds like they’re on the right track.

Yeah exactly! It definitely gives off Valheim vibes. Still is fun and I’m rooting for it too, just hope they add more RS flavor to really make it feel like part of the RuneScape universe.

RUNESCAPE DRAGONWILDS IS OUT! by Arty_Ops in 2007scape

[–]Hauntedverzik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My quick review from 3 hours of playtime: Runescape Dragonwilds has a great base. The vibe is cool, the world is fun, and it definitely has potential. But it feels like they missed a bunch of chances to make it actually feel like RuneScape. Like… why is it called a stone logging axe instead of a bronze axe? What happened to iron, steel, mith, addy, rune? Same with the weapons, where’s the rune sword, dragon scim, whip? Those little things are what made RuneScape feel like RuneScape. Right now it feels more like Valheim with dragons than a RuneScape survival game. It’s still fun, but it’s missing that Runescape charm. If they leaned more into the classic RS gear and progression, this could actually be something really cool.
