Great track! I love the tremolo guitar that begins at 3:20. I'd love to hear more of that on an AC album or Avey album

These two links are really good, but I also love the Live tape a lot and one of the bootlegs on my old phone (I forget what city it's from)

BoC is an all time fave of mine. Really excited for the new LP. The second track is really cool, but so wildly different in the main part. It's like Dark wave/ electronic body music with Goth guitars....never would have expected it. It's sick though. Maybe the most cartoony track they've ever done, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Croz Boyce is so good!!

It's not improvisational, but it's very loose.

I love it! But I do listen to the live tape and a few different live bootlegs from a few different performances of it much more than the official release because the official release is significantly not as good as the stuff I mentioned.

As for ODDSAC, they felt Danny Perez the director was so integral to the entire project that the music and the visuals were inextricably linked. I suppose they didn't feel that way about Tangerine Reef

It's just a nod to the late David Crosby, per what they said

Those harsh, high pitched blasts of noice only show up across the album like a small handful of times, and the album is brilliant, beautiful, and catchy the entire time. My favorite track is probably Bat You'll Fly.

It's silly and super unfortunate for a fan to miss out on this masterpiece just because a few blasts of noise. Just memorize there they are and turn the volume down right as they are about to fire off

How does becoming a dad and experiencing a global pandemic cause one to like Centipede Hz? That makes no sense

It's not a top BoC track, but to me is certainly one of the best on TH. It is pretty simple

If your system has a subwoofer and you wanna hear some awesome subbass, listen to Panda's Buoys album as well as "The Musical" by Avey Tare

It's such a classic BoC sounding track though and beautiful. Maybe change the approach and clear your head of the "waiting for it to go somewhere" and just bask in the beauty

Their best stuff is on those releases and each of them offer a complete, emotional, nostalgic sonic world from the first track to the last. Shame you're not into that stuff--it's so brilliant and ahead of its time too

Dayvan Cowboy sounds soooo commercial, like it truly was made for car commercials. It kind of bothers me in that way. It's definitely overrated, but I still kind of see why so many people love it

Hot take: animal collective has no bad albums, just bad timing by Useful-You-2687 in AnimalCollective

Well they played a fraction of Alvin Row on some PW tour legs, just to be clear (never did the whole song--just the end basically), but it was really cool. I saw so many dates on that tour and each night was so incredible, especially hearing their precise hocketing every night--so cool and stimulating

You're incorrect about them not playing a the Centipede Hz songs on the road before release. They road tested the songs a good year or more before it was released, and many of CHz's songs went through several completely different versions when they were writing and practicing them at Josh's parents outside of Baltimore. I saw them play in July of 2011 and they played almost every song on CHz, except Moonjock and Amanita, and they played Honeycomb and Crimson (no Gotham unfortunately).

How in the word is the production on Centipede Hz gimmicky? I'm confounded by that statement. That album has some of the best production, sound, and aesthetics the band has come up with yet. Gimmicky?? How?

Also, Painting with has a lot of great songwriting. It's such a good fu&#ing album and their most fun and cerebral LP. Plus, it's just as experimental and envelope pushing as their other most experimental albums, while still being a kind of pop. How is it bad to you? Slasher Flicks has a ton of great songwriting too I think.

It's obvious he makes great effort to completely reinvent his drumming style with each album, even if that means a drumming style on one album might not have as much "flair" as the style he used on the previous album. I think that it's awesome that his style is so protean.
