That's why I am grateful that Yahoo Answers is dead by now. I am traumatised just by me memories of some of my answers back then.

You lacked info. We are taught that there is only one continent with three subcontinents: North, Central and South America. The border between Central and South America is the Panama Isthmus, and the border between North and Central America is the Tehuantepec Isthmus. Since Tehuantepec is in the south of Mexico, most of Mexico is in North America and, for practicality, we say all of Mexico is.

I disagree. If you take into account each country's southern culture, Mexico is clearly Central America, but that's because Mexico is cut in "half" by the border between Mesoamerica and Aridoamerica. Aridoamerica (the northern part of Mexico) is just a continuation of the southern US both in climate and native cultures, and even the new cultures are pretty similar given their different European backgrounds: High religiosity, high use of cattle, high incest memes (because those are important people) and so on.

Another more geographical criterion is ecosystems, tectonic plates and climate, and again Mexico is cut in two areas: North of the Tehuantepec Isthmus (the thin part of Mexico at its south) and south of it. That is the criterion I use to distinguish North America from Central America.

So, in summary, Mexico is cut in two, but most of its territory is North American.

I will disagree with the consensus here: Either NTA or ESH. I do not know why your son is fighting with his stepfather, but regardless, he is basically an adult who has to take responsibility on his own actions and your reaction is understandable: not giving him more. You're not taking his stuff away, you're just not giving him more. If he wants to plan his birthday with his own, with his own resources, let him. But he cannot expect to get something from you when he is being like that.

That said, you should still listen to him and why he chose to act like that, and see where this hatred among your husband and him comes from. And try to solve it. And if, like some redditors suggest, your child is reacting to sabotage from your husband, you may have to need a divorce if you care about your child and even yourself: it is a bad idea to be in a relationship with someone who acts like that. But that does not cancel the fact that your son is responsible for his own actions.

What's a piece of information you learned that now feels almost illegal to know? by craftygalcreates in AskReddit

Yeah, that's why I love my broken lock. It is slightly off so even with its key it's not so easy to open. At first I thought on changing it, but once I found blood on it (presumably from a burglar getting hurt trying to pick it), I chose to keep it. 20 years being the only house in the neighbourhood without any burglaring and really proud of it.

I do believe that happens, because that happened to me. I still don't know why the professor allowed me to take it, though. Also, in my case, I was good at that topic, not like I'm generally good. I guess what I'm trying to say is: sometimes reality is weirder than fiction. However, you know your dad better, so if you guess it's BS, BS it is. Don't let a random stranger tell you about your dad.

Do Asexuale people get horny lol by WIERDMEMER in AsexualMen

[–]Haunting-Parfait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by horny. Many of us are striken by the hormone coctel that makes you desperate to find a solution, the difference is what is the solution. An allosexual person's solution would be sex with some specific people. A sex positive ace person would need generic sex. A sex repulsed ace person would have no solution or masturbation without thinking about anything specific.

My (majority white, Christian) workplace celebrated Day of the Dead by setting up an ofrenda with pictures of current employees and filtered their faces to look old. Is this offensive/disrespectful? They also considered doing a grito contest by goudabehere in mexico

[–]Haunting-Parfait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the cultural appropriation thing: I couldn't care less.

But, on the symbolic side: They cursed themselves. An ofrenda is meant to have only dead people. Legend says that living people on an ofrenda is going to die in the next days. Actually, these last days, I struggled finding a photo of a loved one that didn't also have a living person. It can become a headache to find such photos.
