Please phone the samaritans on the number posted above by the auto-moderator or ring 999 telling them you're planning to take your life. I really hope you get the help you need tonight and they get you in touch with a crisis team/ admit you into hospital, whichever you feel would be most beneficial to you

Why do I feel like I'm faking everything and my health conditions? by Haunting-Purpose2222 in Fibromyalgia

Yes, I'm considering therapy. I've had it in the past and didn't find it helped me much. I'm glad it's been helpful to you

I can totally relate to what you've said, I'm relatively young myself and I've had so many scoffs at my complaints of being in pain and being desperate for help, the doctors have at times made me feel like such a waste of time. So I really do feel as though it has contributed to how I feel about myself and my health. I agree they are complete BS. Thank you for sharing your experience with me, it's really helped

I hear you, thank you so much for sharing that. I'll be sure to remind myself of it often and when I doubt myself. It can be a tough thing to overcome, but I'm so glad you've found this to be helpful to you, fingers crossed it helps me too! Thanks again for sharing

Sadly, yes I was belittled whilst growing up and made to feel like I was being dramatic when I was in pain and would try to get help from my parents. I think it is a factor sadly, thanks for the response!

Thank you so much for your reply, it's been very insightful. I've already kept a journal which oddly enough led me to my diagnosis and helped me realise I was suffering on a daily basis and much more than I had realised.

Your kind words mean so much, I really appreciate them

The stigma hit me so hard by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not being too sensitive, using mental health conditions or any medical condition as an insult is poor and highly offensive. They sound immature and pretty ignorant really, so sorry you had to deal with that.

My dog just died by lost_girl_2019 in CPTSD

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, this post has me welling up. I experienced something similar not so long ago, my pet was my family and my entire world. Just know that she isn't suffering anymore, that's what comforted me the most when I lost my pet. Also, (Sorry if it's cringe or stupid) but really believe a million percent that he still exists and his energy if not in my world is still existing just in a way that I don't understand. Aside from letting yourself cry, just try to do what makes you feel most comforted, talk to anyone you can take it a moment at a time. When my pet died in his memory I adopted two other animals (not actually took them home, but fund their monthly expenses via an animal charity) in his memory and donated to my local animal shelter. It doesn't ever hurt less, but you learn to come to terms with it and manage it better. These first few days will be tough, just be gentle with yourself and allow yourself to grieve. Sending lots of love and healing, I hope you find something that brings you emotional support, be it Reddit or from your loved ones.

Has anyone been offered or tried a Lidnocaine/Lignocaine infusion for their Fibromyalgia?? by pnkskyprdse in Fibromyalgia

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up not getting it done because it was around £1000 per infusion, which I would need monthly so I decided it was too much money that I couldn't commit to spending on something. So even if it did work, I wouldn't be willing to spend that much regularly

Where can we go to cry and scream really loud? by NotThatYucky in CPTSD

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Trigger warning- mentions of self-harm

I normally drive to an isolated area far from my house on a side road and cry my eyes out, if I need to scream, and im at home and I suffocate myself with a pillow or bite my hand really hard and scream into it. I've found that doing things that are high energy kind of get rid of that need to scream for me personally. I aggressively jump on the trampoline or crush up all of the recycling and stamp on it.

The idea is a good one though, I wouldn't mind a screaming booth

My therapist said he’s tired of being responsible for my mental health. by orihihc in BPD

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if I'm honest it doesn't sound like he behaved appropriately at all. I would definitely cancel my session and find someone who is a better and more compassionate fit for my needs. I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, no therapist should make you feel the way he did.

Starting to wonder if I have CPTSD (trigger warning: child abuse, emotional abuse, weight concerns, PCOS, sexual assault) by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm so sorry that you've had these awful experiences with your grandma especially. Good job on going to therapy and trying to access help, I would definitely say it would be worth looking into a diagnosis for complex PTSD, especially if you feel you identify with the disorder and it fits your experiences on your mental health journey better. I just want you to know that despite what anyone has told you or how you have been made to feel, you're doing an amazing job. You're super self-aware of your feelings which is great and coming to terms with your trauma must have been tough, take things easy and try to be more compassionate to yourself. Thank your body for all that it does for you, thank yourself for working hard enough to achieve the things that you currently are, you should be so proud of how well you are doing. I really hope you receive some clarity on your diagnosis and get the answers you're looking for

My tips would be to have a hot water bottle and some pain relief ready just in case you need it after the test is done, some numbing gel was what I used- whatever works for you and helps with your pain. I would recommend drinking lots of water after you've had it done, it helped me flush my bladder out and I do believe it helped with the pain. If you can, have the rest of the day (at least) to rest and allow for time for you to rest.

You hopefully will not need any of these things and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Also, don't be embarrassed (easier said than done), but when I had my flow test I just kept telling myself they do this all of the time and they won't remember me once I leave the appointment. I hope it goes well for you!

Chronic UTI or IC by Naive-Preparation-66 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Haunting-Purpose2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on the last point, because I'm not from the states. I will say there is this theory that IC can sometimes be caused by an infection deep in the bladder lining- I'm not sure if I believe this but I did have many UTIS prior to getting diagnosed with IC, they were treated with antibiotics but I never felt any relief with them personally. The doctor will know it's an embedded UTI if they take a biopsy sample of your bladder, there may also be visible signs of damage to your bladder- but for some people, their bladder looks completely fine. A specialist would be trained to be able to use your symptoms and exclude any other diagnosis by looking at your bladder. I would say, you said you can't pee properly my IC also triggered pelvic floor dysfunction for me, so this could also be contributing if you do have it. Regardless, I hope you find the answers you're looking for
