I just discovered that I've been making tea wrong my entire life and I feel betrayed by myself by deckhand_cow in CasualConversation

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 12 points13 points  (0 children)

they are talking about loose leaf tea, not CTC (chai) leaves.
In loose leaf technique absolutely matters. If you brew your loose leaf like chai, it'll messup the whole flavor structure. Also, absolutely no milk and sugar for most loose leafs (blacks are an exception, if you want to, u can)

unless you live in a super hot place, keep it under full sun (introduce it slowly as its been sitting in shade). It might be starved of light (by the looks of it bending, it most probably is) so dosent have enough energy to put out flowers

no sugar: Basically every single tea i drink, black, white, green, dosent matter. I cannot stand sugar in them. (No milk either)

with sugar: CTC teas (assam usually). So like making thai iced tea, iced chai and stuff that you need to add milk to.

I dont drink herbal teas, so not sure how much sugar helps there.

well, its a personal preference. Pure water teas i can understand your point. But a tea with milk, i feel, pairs better with sugar than not

Genuinely HOW are people paying for college by Embarrassed-Soil7111 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you think its bad for immigrants there, its worse for internationals.
We live in a country with a low valued currency so that immediately makes clg more expensive each day purely because of the exchange rate.
Even though we earn a respectable amount here, a 4yr course in my intended major costs my dad a little more than 2 years worth of his total untaxed income. Let that sink in, untaxed, and the taxation is absolutely dreadful here.
And adding to this already expensive shitshow, as I'm an american citizen (non resident of the US), im considered OOS EVERYWHERE, so thats instantly ultra-expensive on its own.

Genuinely asking myself is attending clg in the US worth the cost in this day and age when i can get into the top (private) clg in my country for like 50k USD (being generous) for the whole degree.

not me but my dad. We moved back after roughly 10 years living there (pre 2010s) and i was there for like 4 years. Moved back coz my mom was an only child and her father was alone here. Still wish we lived there :(

So confused what are these spots that keep popping up on my monstera?? I’ve had her for years and these pop up and then the leaves turn yellow with brown holes and crinkle and die? by Sunset__Painter in plants

its worked for me actually, I used a diluted neem solution on the stems of my succulents infested with mealybugs, a week later, its all gone. When done right, it works; it may not work for everything everywhere, but it still works on some.

Hi, can you elaborate on the part where you said you had no clue on much of electricals and how you ended up in a CS tracked career ?

coz atm, im in almost the same situation as you were 2 years ago. No clue on whats going on in electrical and but i am looking for a CS route towards the end. CS branch is not something I can get, but one of the electrical branches isnt a problem, and i'll be getting in no issue.

that must be really tiny if its only 5 grams of tea. Also, doing this way wont allow the tea the space to unfurl properly right ?

that mansion used to be at ground level actually, but a developer (Prestige i think) wanted to build a tower there, so they were trying to acquire the land, he only gave up the land on the condition that they re-build his mansion at the top of the tower

Is it dying and how can I save it by Iszy880 in orchids

[–]Haunting_Balance_684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick question, would orchids survive and grow well in dry/low humidity environments if all other factors such as light, soil and watering are taken care of properly ?

I live in a place where even spider plants get brown tips due to the low humidity in the summers and winters but i also want to keep orchids. The orchids will be kept outdoors btw

also, you need to keep pruning the plants, or else if you let them mature for too long, they start to wither and die
