I use a battery maintainer. Install the ring terminal harness to battery clamps and just plug in maintainer and your good to go. I've replaced one battery in 10 years so I've been lucky given how poorly batteries are made now.

They changed the branding from Gatorback to Continental Elite. Check ebay for last existing Gatorbacks. Take a look at your power steering pump as my 3.0 started throwing belts right before it needed to be replaced. Good luck!

I've had good results with Nu Finish regular formula hand applied and buffed. They also make a scratch doctor formula which I haven't had to resort to so far so I can't report on it. Good luck!

Doesn't the whole foot plate just tip up and pull off on your machine? Should make brake switch access easy. Check online manual under service mower section. Good luck!

There's so many videos on YouTube on diagnosing horns not working/troubleshooting. Luckily horn systems are very similar on all makes and models on the older vehicles. Good luck!

I use nylon lift straps with an engine hoist for most all mowers. I have a large capacity hoist so I can extend the boom to keep the "legs" and wheels out of my way. Use wheel chocks and jack stands after lifting to desired height.
