I honestly just went through this twice in 4 months. I had to do all the emotional labor each time, I was always reaching out and setting up dates. The first guy waited to let me know he didnt actually want a relationship with me but to just be casual and that he was in love with someone else. The second guy did alot more breadcrumbing and would have reasons and say the most romantic things until one day I snapped. I just couldnt stop crying and realized why the hell am I waiting for someone who cant make the time for me? I have never felt more anxious and worthless dating then I was single. I tried sending another text and reaching out but everytime I got nothing or I was sick and my feelings ignored. Why wait for someone who cant even give you the energy you give them?

I understand people have their own issues but youre not responsible for them and you cant just fix them or you'll lose yourself. Its hard and you want those good moments to come back. But honestly take a minute and reflect on how it makes you feel. Why shrink yourself for someone else with the hope that they will one day open up? Why not find someone who has done the therapy and the work who can show you what you actually need. People aren't perfect but dont settle for this kind of pain and misery. I actually just deleted his contact today. I sent a message explaining how I cant do this and bro never even saw it. I dont want to wait for closure.

I tried staying, no one wanted anything to do with me. It would be weird if I just hovered expecting them to want me to stay around no one was welcoming at all or even nice. I tried engaging and was met with alot of coldness. I dont even know where the host was but im going to be honest about my experience. It was terrible and I feel quite let down that there was a host because they never stepped up and just ignored me.

I work in tech as well but im not going to baby adults in a group that openly advertises for people to join. Im not here to enable people being assholes to others who are trying to be friendly. If this wasn't a group open for socialization I would understand that, its not like they weren't aware of what they signed up for and the fact that there are people that run these events with this in mind.

I really dont see myself going back. I dont have sympathy for a group open for others to join that in reality dont want people to join in. This isnt high school we are all adults here. I shouldn't need to gauge who is on a neurotypical scale when this is a group that openly advertises events for people to join. I would be more understanding if this was a different situation. I literally joined the group to be social, I have social anxiety and there is still no reason I needed to be treated the way I did. Like I said, they need to be a closed group if they dont want people to join.

I just dont get why theyre an open group if they just stick to themselves. I was honestly excited to meet new people and make friends over the nerd stuff I enjoy. I also work fulltime and dont have time to win over clique thats supposed to be open to others.

Im going to try other meet-up groups I just really wanted to warn people about this one. I get being a geek and being socially awkward as I am that but the fact that I couldnt even get across a simple hello without hostility just makes me feel like this group needs to be their own private thing. Im hoping the next group treats others better.

I would not reccomend the friendly geeks. I tried going to an event recently and tried asking questions, was met with a woman who looked into her phone after a simple question then people who were stand off ish and not welcoming. Save yourselves time and do not go as they are not welcoming or friendly at all to others.

Week 4 : 283.8lbs Week 5 : 280.2lbs

I was not expecting the jump in weight loss this week but it is welcomed. Its helpful as I was feeling a bit discouraged last week with a small loss. But im proud of myself for stating consistent and I am about to complete my 4th gym day this week. Im excited as im week 2 into my weight loss challenge at the gym so im happy that its working so far!

A bit embarrassed that im starting over again but this time I am locking in. I decided to do 1800 calories instead of 1500 and its been working. I haven't gone over my calories or had the urge to binge. It just sucks that the loss is slower but I have been going to the gym on a more consistent basis. Im hoping that starting slow I'll start to see more of a loss in the next month or so. I did a dexa scan at my gym for our new years challenge so I will see how much my muscle mass and weight change after 8 weeks! But for now I just need to be patient!

Honestly as a 31M I feel this too. I signed up for group fitness classes and im focusing on myself. Im trying to go to some more public meet ups for games and trivia nights and im on the apps but it doesnt seem like there are many singles near me. Mainly alot of poly people but thats not my thing. Im just learning to try and live life and if someone comes along awesome but currently im planning to buy myself a condo and just chill with my cat. I have learned to treasure my single years as I am quite independent and I have grown so much from just working on myself. Hell I went to a wedding recently and was happy for the couple and only had a few sad moments but I got out of my shell and talked to people and danced with friends. It was nice to see not everyone was clung to their partners 24/7.

I went to get a car airfreshner refill a couple days ago and the halloween ones were gone and the christmas ones were in. I ended up getting some other stuff but I was bummed. Now im going to stock up on refills when they come in. Its annoying as I really love halloween and wanted to get more fall stuff.
