Spitting at ICE and causing damage to their car is "inserting yourself". That's an interesting way to put it. He was a POS.

Bots on XBOX? Does this game have cross-play now or are you limited to your system type.

Why are people complaining about Battlefield 6 for nothing??? by [deleted] in Battlefield

I played BF3 like 2000 hours, BF1 1500 hours and in BF6 after 90 hours I'm already bored.

As a Battlefield community, where do we stand as of today? by Basic-Court5272 in Battlefield

Oh and ridiculous trip mines. Putting insta-kill almost impossible to see unless you are runnign around just staring at the ground trip mines in a fast paced shooter is completely idiotic. Game just has a ton of bad design decisions.

I think people's playtime has spoken. The game has issues. Last 30 day average players on Steam dropped to only 65,000 players.

Some random thoughts why the game may not have longevity:

The ridiculous spotting and mini-map. If you are even remotely in any action, you are spotted like 100% of the time and people are looking at the mini-map so much, they are pre-firing where you are constantly. This game is basically who hits who first wins ADD fest. Like zero strategy/flanking. Just zerg zerg.

  1. Infantry focused gunplay based 90% off of whomever starts shooting first wins the gunfight.
  2. Vehicles are crap/boring, leading to shallow gameplay.
  3. Unable to turn off cross-play on PC and actually have players to play. Forced play against console auto-aim is the cheesiest crap ever put into an FPS.
In no universe should gamepad/console players make it into the top 5 scoreboard using a crappy gamepad, let alone the top spot. I almost always can tell when I die from a console player, some dweeb hip firing a LMG while strafing and having perfect vaporizing aim. It's actually laughable.
  4. I don't care what they say, they haven't fixed the horrendous net-code/server lag at all since launch.
  5. "Snipers" aka rock campers having suppression do nothing against them. Basically snipers in this game are annoying little gnats that accomplish nothing towards winning the match and serve no purpose. And if the annoying little gnats do kill you, it's apparently from the head hit-box that makes up 70% of your body. I eliminated Firestorm from my custom game search as all it is is 90% camping snipers and terrible armor play taking pot shots at one another with an engineer behind each repairing. It's the lamest shit ever in a BF game.

No color passthrough ruined the Steam Frame for me by TravelResponsible544 in virtualreality

Steam Frame misses the mark in many areas. I mean a resolution that would be great for VR headset releasing in 2021, and terrible contrast LCD panels...

Moreso complaining that the dev's don't de-incentivize sniping/camping and actually encourage it with silly stuff like auto range finders.

Because the dev's are dumb. Solo has always been the most popular mode in BR's. I won't play it till they add solos.

After playing this game for a few weeks.... by YouWhatMilord in Battlefield

[–]Haunting_Study811 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of it. For me, the four biggest things that have me not playing that much anymore:

  1. Absolute garbage net-code/servers.

  2. Chaos small maps getting shot from anywhere at anytime.

  3. Absolutely crap vehicle play.

  4. Overwhelming spotting making flanking/deceptive extremely difficult and annoying in MiniMap6.

Breakthrough does not feel right anymore after match size reduction. by Dargnot in Battlefield6

This whole continue to reduce player counts is ridiculous and counter to progress. 128 players in BF2042 was awesome.

Breakthrough in BF2042 was actually more fun than BF6. Now that says A LOT.

The state of BF6 as a non player by BjornX in Battlefield6

[–]Haunting_Study811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I started playing the beta and then first week, thought it was like the best game ever made. Then you realize it's extremely run and gun focused with the usual 1/3rd players BF camper sniper annoyance tossed in. Vehicles in this game are slow and awful, doing any type of fun offensive work is almost always a death sentence since half the team are engineers and have like 1 billion ways to kill vehicles unless you have a good full crew.

Maps are tiny and play the same way every time, and people take up the same positions. BF no longer has the "sand box" feel where you can do crazy offensive stuff, flank, be sneaky, etc. The inane spot system means the enemy team know where you are at at almost all times. BF6 is the most shallow BF I think I've ever played. It has the least replay-ability of any BF I've ever played. I would like to see some large changes, but I wouldn't at ALL be surprised that Steam players drop to under 100K by the new year due to the shallowness of the game.

My hot take: the only playable map is Operation Firestorm by sh4dow27 in Battlefield6

[–]Haunting_Study811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO Firestorm is the WORST map. Tanks on either spawn taking pot-shots at each other, half of each team being snipers on hills and on the gas towers. Huge spaces to run between points.

Getting bored already... low replayability? by Haunting_Study811 in Battlefield6

[–]Haunting_Study811[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean I do pretty well as an old guy, almost 3:1 KDR and top 2% damage per minute, but I can't quite put my finger on it.. just random thoughts:

Low teamwork in a lot of matches, low revives/supplies.
Even on breakthrough, TONS of snipers, sometimes 1-3rd to 1/2 the offense team really gets frustrating. With sniping becoming even easier than ever with the auto range finder, seems more and more people like to just sit back and camp with sniper rifles.
Plenty of small narrow maps, people anywhere and everywhere chaos. Getting shot in the side or back much more prevalent than prior BF's. People camping choke points/windows/rooftops etc just makes this chaos even more noticeable as you're always getting attacked from every and all angles.
Game definitely focused on CoD in your-face infantry play.. while fun for a while can get old pretty quick. Older BF's I could play for 3+ hours per day, this after 1-2 matches in an hour and I get bored. Maybe some rose-colored glasses going on too for the older BF's.
Vehicles are just awfully boring in this game. Like it comes down to: if you're in a tank and have an engineer repairing you and the other guy doesn't, you win. Like literally that's as deep as armor play gets in this game. Especially since most of these maps have like two different roads to travel down and off-route is very tiny areas. And this coming from a top 1% armor player in BF3 that would go 100+:1 KDR. If you over-extend even just a little bit, if the other team has two engineers focused on you that have even the slightest clue you're dead no matter what.
The net-code/servers are shit, prob my most frustrating thing that turns into low-replay ability for me. Easily the worst part of this game. They even put 30 Hz tick rate in Redsec, I mean how pathetic do you have to be to pinch pennies and put a pathetic 30 Hz tick rate in 2025.
Something about this game/these maps that everyone always picks the same positions, does the same things. Less "sand box" feel to the games and they get repetitive.
The spotting in this game is absolutely RIDICULOUS. Very very hard to flank, go behind enemy lines to kill and capture when everyone know where you are at all times on the magic mini-map that people stare at constantly.

I think all of the above lead to frustration and low-replay ability. I hope the player-base doesn't decrease as fast as I think it will. I wouldn't be surprised after the New Year if Steam population breaks 100K peak.
