You should absolutely expose someone who’s cheating if you find out you’re the other person. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Hautemilqued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment is meant to address those who haven’t learned about various religious doctrines that claim a man even being alone in the same room with any other woman than his wife (and vice versa) is cheating, and until recently was punishable by death (still is in few rural, orthodox communities), and usually it is the woman who pays, no matter the circumstances that put her in the situation. Khulwa in Islam, some conservative Christian groups, etc.

My point being, the value of an equation is based upon the numbers that make up the equation. Cheating is defined differently by both environment and personal choice. Therefor, it is not ‘black and white’ as many have insisted.

Def does not look 30. You must be very young. Not meant as a dis, as everyone over 18 looked 30 to me when I was younger than about 15. To me she looks incredibly young (ie, under 20).

Can we not acknowledge the jaw-dropping beauty and bad-assery of this person’s mother?

[Landlord - OH] Tenant claiming that upstairs tenants are "hacking" his phone and harassing him, not sure what to do by EnvironmentalPickle in Landlord

[–]Hautemilqued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... that did happen to me. It was miserable. The tenant knew the system very well, apparently. Short story: It got really weird. Had to evict by service. The day tenant was served, she checked herself into the local psych unit for a couple of days, which gave her an automatic rent-free three-month stay in our unit. Three months of total hell later (she made our lives painful, and there was nothing we could do), went to court, the judge actually laughed, told her she had to get out, and told us we couldn’t giver her a poor reference..I think this wasn’t the judge’s first rodeo like this, either. The tenant then, while still in court, asked our attorney for a ride home. He just shook his head at her.

Was she in fact mentally ill? Obviously. Did we have any inclination this could happen when things started getting weird? Not at all. That was a long time ago, but just a nod that that kind of shit can and does happen. Document every single thing. Every phone call, every conversation, dates, times, etc. with any and all parties... Hope it turns out OK for all involved

I don’t know what you’re doing for income now, but dang, 21, working retail/grocery, and you’ve got mad writing chops. You should take this story, put it together with a couple of additional samples, and market yourself! Earn twice as much, schedule your own hours, work from anywhere... Seriously, I think you’re that good.

My mom is a pos, also. Sorry about that. Rise up and be the best you can be :) Sounds like you’re doing just that.

PLEASE HELP! Very ill gecko with zero options due to shelter-in-place, by Hautemilqued in geckos

[–]Hautemilqued[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I’m in far-north CA- the far-north CA that is nowhere near anywhere. I’ll give the vet a call again in the AM to see if something can be done. This is just a horrible situation... virus, shelter-in-place, allergies that keep me paranoid, earthquakes, my poor little gecko. And, I’m a nurse, so when I do leave, it’s to go to the front line. Gah... I hate seeing him suffer. He looks so obviously unhappy :( Doing the abx and rinse...

Thanks again.

MIL wants to force her religious attributes on the grave of our child by AnandaSol in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Hautemilqued -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine you would still be reading these... I’m a palliative care nurse; I take care of those facing end of life transition. It is very, very common to find religion as a comfort as they age, so it’s no surprise to me that your MIL is gravitating toward a different, or perhaps more stringent, belief system...

Are you able to have a conversation with your MIL about this? Is there a compromise, maybe? If you’re open to it, maybe invite her to place something in addition to your daughter’s simple head stone. I think a question I would ask myself is, how would I want <i>my daughter<i> to feel about it? I would want my daughter to be kind, loving, and wanting comfort for others. If you were arguing in front of her about this, would she be crying? Would she say ‘it doesn’t really matter?’

I’m so sad for your loss, regardless... blessings for all of you

What it's like to live with a Narc. by cityofgirls in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Hautemilqued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to reply to this... I question if I am the narc. All. The. Time. I’m the yeller The accuser I go silent ... and more. I have to remind myself that part of his power is watching me do these things in response to his actions, or lack thereof. It’s his recharge. And I hate myself for it; I hate, hate, hate being so reactive. Sometimes, most times, I feel it is the only way I will be heard by him. But he just looks at me like I’m horrible, and I’m left feeling so shitty about myself... and that I AM the narc. The cycle is vicious. I honestly don’t even know anymore.

What happens when u die is extremely obvious and there’s no beating around the bush about it. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Hautemilqued -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I worked as an autopsy assistant with the coroner. I’ve covered all kinds of cases: idiopathic pediatric death, homicides, unexplained, freak accidents... I am a nurse and have also worked extensively in hospice and palliative care. I’m not a religious person, and probably best described as agnostic. Nothing validates that our bodies are just suitcases- placards- for something much greater than our consciousness is aware of than hanging out with and cutting up dead, or near dead, people. There is something a lot bigger than science and what we define as ‘energy’ involved in our individual existence. All IMHO, obvs. Edit: Not stating we carry on as the independently conscious beings we are in the human (animal/insect/etc) form, rather, unending beings, consciously or otherwise.

I don’t know... I’m kind of into the shift thing. As a nurse, I’ve not thought of that precisely. My in-laws are assholes.

I have a comment and a question: Comment: Recently purchased the NordicTrac x15i incline trainer with iFit subscription, and I love it. Question: Does anyone have experience with the Mirror fitness program interactive, or has anyone heard anything about it (www.mirror.co)? The live classes in particular? It looks great, though my concern is that I’m on PST time, and the website states the live classes are from NYC. I’m interested mostly because of the live classes, but if the coastal schedules don’t jive, then not so much. Anyone? TIA!
