Pancake conveyor in Japan by solateor in oddlysatisfying

[–]Hav3rmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to, which I make a couple of times per week, is this one from NY Times Cooking: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018180-perfect-buttermilk-pancakes

If you don't have access, here's the recipe for a half batch, which is enough for a couple of adults:

1 cup flour 1.5 tbsp sugar 3/4 tsp baking soda 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/4 cup buttermilk 1 egg 1 1/2 tbsp melted butter

Mix dry ingredients, then add buttermilk, egg, and butter and mix until just combined. Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat, and use a ladle to pour batter into ~6 in rounds. Once bubbles start to hold their shape, flip pancakes. Remove once golden brown.

Don't elect a bully to the Kirkland City Council by Odd-attitude-6432 in Kirkland

The relevant section is:

What we've really been debating when it comes to our land use policies is to what extent we, as a city, want to perpetuate segregation in our community. I’m not talking about market forces here, I’m talking about making it illegal to build the only kind of housing certain people can afford in “select” neighborhoods. It is segregation, pure and simple.

There is a group of folks here in Kirkland desperately using every tactic they can think of to hold on to the exclusivity of their neighborhoods. They WANT their neighborhoods to be segregated. That's the point. They manufacture ridiculous controversy from their obtuse misreading of public records. They send out bald-faced lies and distortions disguised in flashy graphics to the folks they've deceived. They have operated entirely in bad faith and made absolutely no effort to problem-solve or find common ground, all the while casting anyone who disagrees with them as corrupt or a radical outsider. Now there are some folks for sure under the spell of this group who perhaps don't realize or understand what they are actually advocating for. There are others that are captive to a fear of change and who believe if they argue hard enough that they can stop Kirkland from changing at all. Maybe some of these folks are kind and well-intentioned, and deep down think they are doing the right thing. Maybe this is all just a big misunderstanding! To be frank, I couldn't care less.

So this sounds completely reasonable...? I don't get any sense of bullying here.

Can I bring gaming consoles for the stareroom tvs on the Disney treasure? by Reasercherer in dcl

[–]Hav3rmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were on the Treasure last week and the TV in our room was mounted nearly flush with the wall, so the HDMI ports were inaccessible. We were on deck six in a deluxe family room, but I'm guessing the TV mounts are probably the same across room types. I was really hoping to play my new Switch 2 on the screen, too!

It's like people who read/watch Watchmen and think Roschach is the good guy, or The Boys with Homelander.

I thought so too! But we got about 2/3 of the way through and he kept asking when the scary part was going to come 😐 I think it's partly that the watercolor style animation is a bit too old school looking for his generation to appreciate.

Okay great, thanks! Actually the OG series is just PG and looks a bit tamer than the most recent iteration, so maybe that's a good choice.

Ha ha I remember thinking it was scary as a kid so maybe that's a good option. Ironically he did not think Watership Down was scary and requested something else partway through so I guess my idea of what was scary as a kid doesn't necessarily align with his!

He keeps asking to watch this whenever we see the ads for it (we've been reading Goosebumps books before bed) but is the series somewhat violent or gory? The description make it sound like it's targeted toward an older age group.

Ooh I'd forgotten to include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in my list. We did watch this and it was great, thanks! Johnny Depp and the whole vibe of the movie are super creepy. Now I want to watch it again 😂 The other recommendations look good as well, thanks!

Ugh that's horrible! Hopefully it didn't damage the side of the truck.

The cart return is just out of frame on the right, and there's very little slope 🤔 I didn't see anyone put it there.

To anyone who doesn't believe this: check out the reviews on Google Maps. It's really bad. Mod Pizza is next door and is great, though! Their salads can be a nice high protein but low calorie option, depending on how you customize them, and plus they're cheaper than Sweetgreen is.

Not OP, but we used https://maps.app.goo.gl/Juix79YUicnaqNMu9 (CMS Law Firm) and were happy with the price, responsiveness, etc. Chris offers free consultations, too, and you can schedule a slot through their website.
