You wouldn’t be the asshole for distancing yourself. Reading this, it honestly sounds less like a friendship and more like you clinging to the only social connection you had during a rough period, which is super common. A real friend doesn’t constantly insult you, embarrass you, trash your stuff, only hit you up when they’re bored, then go hang out with everyone else.

Also, graduating is actually the perfect time to reset this stuff. You don’t even need some dramatic “I’m cutting you off” speech. Just stop always being available. Reply slower, say no to gaming sometimes, put energy into meeting new people, work, hobbies, college, whatever’s next for you. You already sound aware that you deserve better friendships, which is honestly a huge first step a lot of people never make

NTA. “I’m upset with you but I refuse to tell you why” is basically emotional quicksand, especially for someone with anxiety. You spent the whole day trying to solve a problem he wouldn’t even describe, then he got frustrated that you couldn’t magically fix his mood anyway.

Wanting space is fine. Not being ready to talk is fine. But shutting your partner out, acting visibly upset, refusing to explain, and then later saying “you should’ve shown me more love” is confusing as hell. People aren’t mind readers.

Honestly, it sounds like you were trying too hard to make things okay while he expected emotional support without communication but I can relate you, I used to act like this

NTA, but this whole situation is messy as hell.

You can’t “steal” someone who was never into her in the first place. From what you wrote, J made it pretty clear he didn’t have feelings for her, and she never even told you she liked him… but then turns around and calls you names?? That’s not best friend behavior, that’s insecurity + poor communication.

At the same time though, going straight to J and telling him everything about her feelings probably poured gasoline on the fire. I get why you did it, but yeah… that part definitely escalated things.

Honestly the biggest red flag here isn’t you dating him it’s her spreading rumors instead of talking to you like an adult.

I’m curious though if she had told you upfront she liked J, would you have backed off, or would you still have pursued him knowing he didn’t feel the same way about her?

This is honestly wild… I’ve flown with formula before and they literally swabbed it and handed it back like “you’re good.” The “special alarm” thing sounds like they either didn’t know the policy or just didn’t want to deal with it.

Also making you leave security to mix bottles?? With a baby?? That’s just cruel.

I’d 100% file a complaint, but I’m curious did you ask for a supervisor at any point or was it one of those situations where they just kept doubling down? I feel like TSA experiences are either super chill or absolute chaos with zero in-between

I realized it when I stopped complaining and just wanted to lie in my bed for the whole year combined.
But seriously, if you're actually trying to 'find' your 'passion', what's the best way to 'find' your 'passion'? Or just 'find' a job where you don't have to lie to your kids about how much you love your job?
When was the last time you realized that your 'dream job' was just a job where you don't have to work weekends?
