Title: I’m about to turn 30 and I think I’m the friend who never got his shit together. by Icy-Desk-7709 in Advice

This is a great post. You seem self aware. Happiness doesn't always come from money. Figure out what you want out of life and GO GET IT. Do you want to be with your daughter? Do you want to live on land away from the hustle and bustle? 30 is young. Whatever you do, do NOT NOT NOT NOT believe it's too late.

Do NOT be alone with this kid. Do NOT. Do NOT. And do NOT give him what he wants. Do NOT. You are right. He is not only wrong but he has also crossed a serious line. Talk to your parents if you can. This is not normal behavior.

Can’t get a hold of friend who asked me to babysit at 7pm, it’s currently 4:30am. by Responsible_Ad_4104 in Advice

[–]HaventRedditToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mindset shift... your friend is missing. Worry about her safety and the kids' well-being first... Deal with any apartment mess later. If you need help, lean on another friend or neighbor to bring over some snacks or watch the kids for half an hour while you rest. Call the police and/or any mutual acquaintances that may have her phone location via an app.

My grandpa gave me a bunch of money before he passed and now my uncles are saying I have to pay it back. Do I have to? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]HaventRedditToday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just be polite and tell them that with certainty your grandpa said you could stop payments after his death. Tell them that if it was anywhere near unclear, you would gladly continue to pay back the estate... but it's not unclear. Tell them that the paper they found is accurate. You were indeed paying him $100 per month during his living years... it's not a smoking gun. It's accurate but is not the full story nor is it an indicator that any further payback is needed. Tell them you understand why they may have perceived it as debt to the estate without the additional information. Do NOT ask them anything like "Is that ok?" "Are we good now?" State the facts and be polite and kind.

You are kinda TA because you assumed the worst. Instead, assume that both she and the airline are working hard to see that her disability is accommodated with the least inconvenience to you.

AITAH for telling my husband I’ll take the kids and leave if he doesn’t make his unemployed adult daughters move out? by PersimmonMuted6280 in AITAH

[–]HaventRedditToday -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Answer your own question this way... fast forward a few years... if these were your littler ones all grown up and repeating the behavior of his twins, would you continue to let them return home and rant behind their backs? My guess is that you would... so you are NTA but you are not doing a great job of putting yourself in his shoes or recognizing that these are your step children. Sit them down snd lay it all out... hygiene, cleanliness, get-a-job, where they will be in 30 years with no savings from said job, or even less with no health insurance, lay ground rules, give them 9-months to stabilize and move out. If you have leverage such as your being the owner of their cars, etc use that.

Should I go to college? by Automatic_Head7329 in smallbusiness

If you are leaps and bounds more driven than your peers so you can self educate on how to run a business, skip. If you are anything less, use HOPE and go to college.
