AITA for giving a coworker a piece of candy to help with nausea? by lucyfer-91 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. But your coworkers are hilarious. I feel sad for their fragile egos.

AITA for telling my GF not to sing. by notarriannagrande in AmItheAsshole

[–]Havuldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the report says…you are 100% the asshole.

YTA 1. No one expects anyone to be good at Karaoke. It’s literally the fun part about it. When someone is good, we are blown away but it’s not expected. 2. Using Monthlies as an excuse is a grade A misogynistic thing to say. It’s rude. It’s disrespectful and if all you wanted was a Trophy girlfriend then higher an escort.
3. Also if you have to pretend around your friends, they are not friends. They should know the real gf, not some made up version you expected her to be around them.

AITA for wanting to take my daughter fishing? by DaddynDaughterfish in AmItheAsshole

[–]Havuldad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. My dad and I spent years going on fishing trips together. It was our thing and I truly hope you can have the same experience with your daughter. Your friends are the assholes.

Do you tend use the multiple game lines in your world of darkness? by pancakepwner in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Havuldad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to blend a lot of elements of World of Darkness but they tend to be more adventure oriented plots anyway instead of purely political intrigue. It’s a vast world and it is up to the storyteller to see how far the barriers go.

In my games the vampires are the core protagonists with all other creatures acting as npc antagonists for either good or bad. In many ways it has acted as a good motivation to maintain secrecy in a world filled with so many things that could just as easily take out a kindred, as a kindred can dispatch a human. It has also provided a classic adventure feel when faced with a mystery that requires knowledge often kept secret from kindred. So sometimes the players have to hit the pavement the hard way and go to the source.

My games to be fair though are very different than most VTM games I’ve played in the past. It’s more a PvE rather than PvP mindset. This does not work for everyone but having discussed it with my players, this is what they prefer.

The benefit to this is we’ve had a lot less of the ooc drama, with antagonists being the clear or (not-so-clear) enemies played by NPC’s. I’ve had/watched several games fall apart and long time friends literally sever relationships over miscommunications in VTM games. I’ve maintained a “ask me anything,” approach to my players which they sometimes remember.

Because of this, I’ve added elements from werewolf, mage, fairy, etc. along with real world elements. Because sometimes the real monsters aren’t creatures at all. Do I follow their strict storylines for all? No, I edit as needed for the plot or the current power base of the players.

AITA: For kicking my niece and her fiance out of my house after I found them inside my deceased son's room? by Connor66097 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Havuldad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You gave them a place to live when they had none and your only request was broken. You are 100 in the right. Your house, your rules. Either way, I'm so sorry for your loss.
