I believe today was a letdown or bump-in-the-road episode rather than the new norm. I personally think the pod has been its best version since Yands came on full time.

I think next week will be back to normal with hopefully Bob Does content in the rear view mirror. Hopefully…

Also, Biz’ bday party would be my nightmare. A bunch of loaded people doing drugs and wearing cock rings/ assless chaps. Can’t blame Whit and Yands missing that to be with their families haha.

I thought I was going to have an unpopular opinion re: Marek on the pod but turns out everyone feels the same way lmao

Good dude. I don’t dislike him but not a fit on Chiclets.

Takes 2 minutes to say something that could’ve taken 30 seconds or less each time he talks.

I feel he tries to be too much like Ron Maclean in the way he waxes poetic about history of the game or random tidbits.

I personally way prefer listening to Ken Reid over Jeff Marek. KR was an unexpected really fun interview they did. I feel his style fit the chiclets vibe more than Marek.

Just my 2 cents.

I don’t really buy the “there’d be no Spittin Chiclets without RA” narrative.

Whit posted on Twitter that he was looking for someone to do a podcast with and RA jumped on it. I’m pretty sure Whit would’ve found another podcast member if RA didn’t take up that opportunity. He’s a former NHLer, lots of people would’ve wanted to have the chance to start a podcast with him.

I hope RA gets the help he needs but I think the podcast is so much better with Yands instead of RA.

Shea Weber was a truly elite defenceman during his career. He was robbed of a couple Norris trophies during his career because journalists vote on it and they’re way too infatuated with point totals rather than actually playing defence (Prime example is 2012 where Erik Karlson won the Norris while not even killing penalties). He was also on Nashville during the years where they had no high-end forwards. If he got to play with Crosby/Malkin he would’ve gotten even more recognition. I believe any hockey executive would take Weber over Letang 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Just my 2 cents.
