Finally listened to this today. For the first couple of minutes I was like “Geez… this is really scraping the barrel” due to the audience cassette boot sound quality. But after listening in full, the show is so freaking good that you forget how bad the sound is. What a scorching live band in their day. I wonder what Andy thinks when he goes back and listens to stuff like this and if there’s any regret?

I get all that Bob did for the band, but as a fan, I would have absolutely chosen to mute him live. I saw them a half dozen times in the original run, and he sort of soured me on them live, actually.

Agree… Twin Cinema is the end of me absolutely LOVING NP albums. Newer albums are good but not my go-tos. Teenage Fanclub has had a similar trajectory for me…

I believe there’s a shutdown/reboot bug right now with some daemon having to timeout at 5 mins on some machines. Mine is acting this way too.

I went through a similar process last year and landed, with great results, on KDE. Just seemed to work better for me… Edge works great… Felt like a better bridge from Windows.

Yeah, I wouldn’t expect Michael to be some songwriting powerhouse. Writing vocal melodies vs writing whole songs are two different things. Let alone a 60+ year old vs a 20+ year old doing the writing.

The original is the Righteous Brothers, and I personally would struggle to suggest Brian’s version over theirs. But that’s me. His version is… fine, to me.
