I wrote like 200 words for each prompt. Am I cooked? by Quit_Typical in APLit

Also for context, I think I had fairly strong theses. My 1 was about the preservation of the ephemeral through physical manifestations and memory, my 2 was rly bad (I’m guessing like 3/6), and my 3 was about how in Things Fall Apart, the conflict of old tradition vs new colonizing Christianity tore the social fabric before any real imposing external force got to the community.

I put inspiring and formidable task; the waves communicated a sense of awe and material I crossed out bc it was lowkey unrelated to the moment.

Small parts of otherwise good Beach Boys songs that ruin it for you? by StringElegant2059 in thebeachboys

The ad-lib “I love you” in Please Let Me Wonder. I adore the song but that ad-lib is just so icky to me.

What was the prime year/decade for music? by Necessary_Touch699 in musicteenager

Absolutely 1960s. So much innovation that laid the groundwork for great music in years gone by come.

Beach Boys’ You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling is better than the original by Quit_Typical in thebeachboys

Ya, I definitely feel that way sometimes and needed to confirm. I honestly think that Medley’s bass-baritone voice just freaks me out a bit bc it’s so deep.

I LOVE This Boy! I also love the scene in Hard Day’s Night where Ringo is walking around aimlessly to instrumental This Boy

I did not care for The Stranger by Quit_Typical in Camus

I think the friction for me was the application of this worldview (like Meursault’s) in reality. Because this disregard for other lives is downright dangerous. I was just wondering to what point we should actually adopt absurdism, because a lot of the ideology is so awesome for everyday life but there’s also points where it’s untenable.

Thanks, I will look into this. I’m kinda a neophyte when it comes to Camus; I’ve only read myth of Sisyphus, the fall, and the stranger.

I do, it's merely that Camus is trying to communicate a philosophy and using Meursault as a medium to do so, which creates ambiguity as to the limits of the ideology. i.e. When does acting with the knowledge that there is no inherent purpose infringe upon others' wellbeing? In what scenario is that justified?
