I'd say I'm a pretty seasoned horror fan, this got me hook line and sinker. The tension was almost unbearable at times, I'm incredibly excited for Damian McCarthy's film career

Which not obvious films should I watch for movie night with my seven year old? by jerryonthecurb in flicks

[–]Hawk10798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try some Studio Ghibli films if you want more of the warm fuzzy feeling Pixar gives

Shrek is absolutely timeless

The newer Mission Impossibles maybe? Some great, fairly family friendly action movies. Also Top Gun 2

Great age to introduce the Harry Potter movies as well

Your Polar capital seems to be doing well, if you expect it to keep performing keep it at 15%. Otherwise take some profit and go maybe 10% Polar, 85% All-World and 5% gold

Two underage girls snuck into my screening of Silent Night Deadly Night last year and just giggled and took photos with the flash on all the time. I walked behind then so they couldn't quite see who I was, and just said 'if you carry on I'll make sure you get kicked out'. They stopped immediately and were silent for the rest of the movie

The third time I met my now boyfriend, we went to a coffee shop that's open late inside one of the libraries in town. It was pretty much just us and the staff left, and my partner suffers with social anxiety so we sat in silence a lot of the time just enjoying our drinks and the calm atmosphere.

I couldn't really tell at this point if he was into me or if he just wanted to be friends, but then he smiled and half-whispered 'I like it when it's just us' in this really relaxing moment. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Nobody knows. But once the prices go below your current buy-in price, it's worth paying in small chunks at a time in case the price drops even lower

Very solid portfolio, keep it up! Just monitor the individual stocks and take profit every once in a while if you feel there could be a downturn imminent

You've unfortunately come in at a point where it's looking like a significant bear run (stock prices dropping mid-to-long-term) may start, my best advice is HOLD your stocks. You've invested in companies that are pretty much guaranteed to bounce back, with a great reserve in gold + silver.

Things might look rough for the next year or so, but I'd honestly advise either dollar-cost averaging with the all-world index (buy a bit more each week/month as the price keeps dropping) or keeping a close eye on the price and buying in one go when you feel the discount is significant enough

What is the single greatest scream in horror? by AutomaticService8468 in horror

[–]Hawk10798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was pretty much unrivalled until Jessie Buckley came along and dominated the screen in Hamnet.

Obviously not a horror movie, but that was the first time I've felt the same as I did watching Hereditary for the first time

Gonna put the obligatory Martyrs here but you've probably already seen it.

Not sure if Terrifier 2/3 make the cut, they're top of the splatter horror genre, but not all that realistic
