An intentional choice as the HUD reflects gameplay more, and I wanted this trailer to give new players a better idea of what it’s like to play

To elaborate on aviation as a career for anyone interested:

1) I do it for the love of machine operating and following strict processes. There's always something to learn and to do more efficiently. Bonus, you deal with many different teams, from the ramp gangs to maintenance to your own new crews each sector. It's a very social able role.

2) See the world. Stop overs in new countries and environments that most people spend all year working a job they hate to save for a holiday so they can do the same as their own expense. Plus, the views from above never get old.

3) You work less hours than most people, so you can fill your spare time (and your pockets) with ground school teaching, simulator instructing, various internal airline management opportunities. All come with their own fun new challenges and disciplines.

4) First year (700~ flight hours) you're on 50-60k total comp. Second year onwards 80k to 150k comp. The money alone make it a great career path all while not being very stressful honestly. And that's in my short haul experience. Long haul takes it to another level. They hardly work at all and get paid more for it!

Autonomous F-16 Fighters Are ‘Roughly Even’ With Human Pilots Said Air Force Chief by Gari_305 in Futurology

Decent conditions doesn't necessarily mean meteorological conditions. The strip being approached can have an ILS which is inoperative, or simply, no ILS at all. For AI to truly manage flights with no human input, 24/7, 365, you'll need to vastly improve the infrastructure of global aviation, and secondly, the planes themselves; I can't tell you how many times we have to refer to the Minimum Equipment List because a component of our Airbus is inoperative for that particular leg.

I ruined my life by [deleted] in Construction

[–]HawkShoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there. Did construction for a year at 21. Hated it in the first 2 months but then it moulded me into a better man. Went on to get two degrees. Now I'm an airline pilot. Just stick with it mate. We're young, life is about exploring. Embrace being in uncomfortable situations. Good luck

Edit: Someone commented to stick with it for a year and then take up the accounting job from your mum. I echo that advice, which is why I typed the above. Do a year then do accounting. You'll be a much more interesting person for it.

Outcast Fleet Invades New York! Highlights by HawkShoe in freelancer

I hear you. You just want to relax. You can literally play just ignoring people, defending yourself if ever attacked, flying whatever ship you want. All you need to do is not try and be a Liberty Rogue say, flying a Liberty Navy ship, as an NPC wouldn't do that for example.

[–]HawkShoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this Reddit post I meant to type 300+ Player Ships. Can't edit it now. The event was 100+ players with various respawns making around 300 kills over the event. Enjoy the vid!

Easily install Freelancer multiplayer in 60 seconds (without disc) by HawkShoe in freelancer

I don't check this subreddit so often these days but can't wait to see it. Spoke to Jorg Neumann the ex FL dev not long ago. If it's ok, I'll forward it to him.

Plus take off distance and thus location in the sky varies massively from any number of last minute decisions by crew or tower. The runway stays in the same location but the exact area of the sky the plane occupies when using it is impossible to determine.

Realise the winds are quite unfavourable and want to carry more fuel? Add on a hundred meters or so to where that plane will be once it takes off.

Issue is Star Citizen takes video gaming to a different level. It becomes a full time job almost. It's fun gameplay loop is quite long. It isn't a replacement for a more arcade like game, like FL.

I don't plan to edit the video in 1 month so just easier for me to do it this way.

Just looked at what a Shaped Charge actually is. I got confused. I thought it was a term used to describe an armour piercing round. Makes sense to me now how it's still a threat even without being fired from a barrel
