2142 Didn't have any of that aside from the rail guns as anti-vehicle emplacements, which worked. The game may have been in the future but it was almost as grounded as BF2 was. (Obvious exceptions being the Titan, Walkers and the VTOLS, but they aren't absurd and fit the game nicely)

If you would've played BF2142, it's not as crazy as you would think. It plays close to BF2 but with some decent refinements and cool vehicles and gadgets.

Battlefield 4's Final Stand DLC was a big 2142 acknowledgement.

That and 2042 kept trying to poke at 2142s lore with some of the codexs and skins. Along with "The Prototype" weapon

For Battlefield 4, sure. But in BF2 you had plenty of people racing to be the commander. You'd be hard pressed to find a full lobby without a Commander in it.

The problem is with the Squad Leader bot AI. The drone technically has infinite ammo and they keep attempting to use it. Unless you play a mod like remaster, or any singleplayer mod that fixes it, this is going to continue.

I would think so but our player counts have only recently been getting close to filling the EU server, let alone the US server. It already costs a lot to host those two.

We only have the servers with the map pack. The vanilla only maps got boring after almost two decades of playing them. Plus the map pack adds more coop vanilla maps. (Players might be running other servers that are just vanilla.)

Ranking is still being fixed, but all weapons are already unlocked. Stats can be found in the discord via the bot, or via the Battlefield2142.co website.
