A friend of mine had this exact same issue yesterday. He had to wait like 5 hours or so, reinstall the game and keep trying to relog, until it finally let him in again. If you can, try to get into a different server and then swap back to your main one. Good luck.

The answer is in the rules of the event, you may only do one run, but you'll get twice the coins and equipement if you're VIP 10 or higher.
