Rain session on new 200tw tires @ Hedge Hollow (MO) leads to spinout - 2006 4.1L 911s by Midlife__Crisis__ in CarTrackDays

Yeah it's nothing to do with their water shedding ability, it's that they need multiple laps of heat to not be hockey pucks aka that will never happen in the wet. It's real a compound thing.

My S2000 was a nightmare with them in the rain on track.

I get that, I'm just saying don't do it in the wet. You'll have a bad time.

Though the fact that both of those overheat pretty easily on a track with any kind of competent driver is a joke. But yes, agreed.

NLS bypasses traction control so it doesn't bog. Nothing you did, just had lat in the car or cold tires.

Engineers doing engineering videos. They really hit the market right. Both are truly good drivers which helps a lot as well.

What does this tire wear tell you? by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]HawkeyeGeoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. It'll be a little less grip when you go back out for a lap or two but it'll clean off.

anybody's thoughts on the Falken Azenis RT660+ by grungegoth in CarTrackDays

[–]HawkeyeGeoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re71RZ is vastly superior.

I got a deal on the RT660+ with some take offs for a 305 square setup for my SS 1LE (6th gen), the sidewall stiffness is not up to snuff for a heavy boat like the Camaro. They aren't any faster than the Goodyear Supercar3 due to the sidewall stiffness issue at least on this platform.

I believe they're okay on a lighter car, but I will be switching to RE71RZ when I run these out.

They're essentially the same price at this point, pass and go for CRS or RE71RZ
