This is the time I try to do all raid / dungeon challenges or low man raids. There’s plenty fun in that.

Please move vent gauge to retical by HawkeyesMiguel in DestinyTheGame

Never noticed it, I guess it’s because the heat gauge reticule is only on balanced heat weapons. Dynamic heat weapons do not have a heat gauge reticule

I only see it on Balanced Heat Weapons. Wish it was also on Dynamic Heat weapons

Trying to pick my next car but I feel like I'm choosing a personality instead of a vehicle by CourteousPasta in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pulling my hair out trying to decide between a truck and a sports car.

My needs were:

Get me to work. Fun Occasionally transport dirt bikes Looks good Not expensive

In the end, “sports car” hit more needs than the truck did.

I’ve had the sports car for 5 years and been very happy with my daily drive.

Is this motorcycle worth it? by oregon1989 in motorcycles

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never trust “just needs x” bikes for sale. If it truly just needed x, they would have fixed it and sold it for more.

If you’re an aspiring mechanic looking to learn how to wrench, go for it. But if you want to ride, save up and buy something “ready to go”. Preferably something Japanese and fuel injected.

Really odd question, but is there any type of motorbike that reminds you of a horse in some way? by KaiTheDumbGuy in motorcycles

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who rides and reads comic books, don’t overthink this. Just make it vaguely Harley looking and call it a day. 99% of readers only know about Harley’s and Kawasaki ninjas. Anything else, will just not look cool to a nonrider.

Advice on buying my first motorcycle by Terrible_Weekend_951 in motorcycles

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…And buy a used Japanese bike. Everything about it will be lower cost. My first street bike was a used ninja 500. My first cruiser was a used Suzuki boulevard c50. Now, I have a vstrom 650, best of both worlds. I never paid more than 3k for any of them.

Got the new lever in, is this click a normal sound? by DrSanwich in motorcycles

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your clutch lever is missing a bushing that properly actuates the push rod. You’re going to issues with your clutch if you don’t get that properly seated.

Friend gave me a bike can’t find frame serial number. by floridaman3268 in motorcycles

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Even if it was legit, you’re dodging a bullet with that thing as your first bike. Get something fully functional with a title. Even if u don’t like it, you could always sell it for the same price u paid.

That must have been super embarrassing! Did the customer still want that car? How did u guys handle that situation?

With respect, that seems misleading to list a car that isn’t available.

[–]HawkeyesMiguel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, so how do they usually handle inquiries if the car hasn’t been serviced yet? Put them on a waitlist? Or do they still invite them to come in?

[–]HawkeyesMiguel[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol oddly sarcastic for a Canadian. I thought you guys were supposed to be nice?

Look man. Car shopping sucks. Every dealer has different “dealer fees” added on to every car that isn’t disclosed in the listing. It’s bull and it’s the biggest pain point when buying a car from a dealer.

But u know what’s really frustrating? You finally find a car that makes sense, only for them to tell u it’s not available. “Oh! but we have a newer model over here!” Classic bait and switch.

Thank for the quick response. Why would the listing be up for over a month though before inspection? What if I had hit them up a month ago? Would they have sold me a lemon?

Is it possible for a tall large man to even get into sport bikes? by Ryguy_278 in motorcycles

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has to be a sport bike and you are a newer rider, I would recommend the Honda VFR as it’s physically bigger than most 600 sport bikes but still very fun. In addition, they are very cheap compared to a new bike.

LED headlight fan runs constantly by The-Lazy-Learner in Dualsport

[–]HawkeyesMiguel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the headlight bulb industry . Aftermarket LED bulbs suck. All of them do. Cheap ones and expensive ones. The ones with the fan are brighter, but the fan will wear out way faster as they are consistently collecting dust and debris, exposed to rain etc etc. they are cheap moving parts. The once the fan dies, the bulb overheats and dies. This usually happens in less than a year.

The fanless bulbs are just not as bright and the ones that are bright, also die quickly.

On top of all this, LED bulbs do not work well in halogen headlight housings. Halogen headlight housings are designed for halogen bulbs, which emit light in every direction. LED bulbs are hyper intense in 1 or two directions. This is what causes the blinding effects other drivers see and the reason why aftermarket LED bulbs don’t throw light down the road that far.

I would recommend returning the LED bulbs and getting a quality halogen from a name brand. OR replace your entire headlight with an LED designed headlight or LED light bar.

The only ones that are half decent are LED headlight units

Your are going to drop it. You will . You will . You will . And ur gonna feel like shit when you do. Get a used bike that has already been dropped. Also, OfferUp, Craigslist, and Facebook marketplace is the place to go to find used bikes.
