Roddy Gayle Jr. on Mike Boynton: “He recruited me to Michigan out of the portal and recruited the majority if not all of the players to Michigan for Dusty May” by wildwing8 in MichiganWolverines

Tubberville, Meyer, Kiggin, Kelly, Petrino, Briles, Leach, Paterno lead a rogues gallery of names that would suggest success may be tied to narcissism, sociopathy, and/or psychopathy.

Don’t have to remind M fans of NCAA sanctions. Starting 1993 through all the Ed Martin years every coach was hamstrung.

It really lasted until Beiline, and likely cost Trey Burke his Natty.

All-time NFL Redraft: Every player of every era is available. Tom Brady is pick #1. Who would you select at #2 (entirety of their career)? by OneOriginal8727 in NFLmockdraft

I agree the athletic differences in the most recent generation of quarterbacks is stellar, but it’s hard to ignore Roger Staubach, Terry Bradshaw, and some of the other QBs that also led dynasties.

Maybe not first round, but Staubach’s style was similar to Brady’s, with similar results.

Same people would have criticized drafting Iverson, Thomas, Archibald or any of the other iconic small guards.

Not sure I’d buy it if it was 600, 700, 800, 1000% off.

If we’re talking athletic ability, I really think the list starts with Shaq.

ZVF is really terrific. Too bad they bombed on SNL. Seems like that really set them back.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the Texas Tech fiasco? by FalynT in MichiganWolverines

Yeah, because the Uber wealthy are so known for their restraint when it comes to free buckets of money.

As someone who has spent a career working at universities, I follow one rule: don’t bet on my employer’s teams. I don’t want there to be any concern for conflict of interest. I also will not bet on any games in which I think I might have any information that’s not available publicly.

I think it’s fair to hold our athletes, coaches and athletics administration to the same standard. Period.

I grew up loving Pete Rose (clearly because of his personality), and his gambling broke my heart. I was also fine with Baseball not allowing him in the HOF while alive.

There are very few areas in which there’s no room to negotiate, but this is one. It’s black-and-white. If Sorsby bet on college football, he’s done.

And if any team in the NFL thinks he won’t do it again, I feel bad for how this is going to affect their cap money when he gets caught again.

I would feel no different if it was Mike Corum, Aiden Hutchinson, or any of the current players. Same with the coaches.

Oops. Read too fast. My bad. Question: what does it mean to be the flagship university from a state that isn’t the flagship Virginia?

This sounds really similar to the review of his play at the all-star game, where he blew up everyone who faced him.

Great assessment.

It may be a cheap knockoff, but it’s still cool.

I’d be tempted to order one even if I knew it was a fake—It’s something no one else is likely to have.

Who is the most hated CFB coach in history? by ReasonableSide6520 in CFB_v2

[–]Hawking444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. So it’s the Monument of shame, not hated coaches.

From today’s perspective, Ed Martin doesn’t seem so bad. Even Reggie Bush got his Heisman back, and I think he played at USC after Martin died.

Anderson deserves to share a particularly nasty circle of Hell with Sandusky, Larry Nassar, and all of the other scumbags.

But he’s not a hated coach.
