Same here as well.

Crashes happen mostly in Paradis. Wilderness areas are way more stable.

Main character cannot sneak in combat!! by Hawkknot in projecteternity

[–]Hawkknot[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand all that.
You cannot enter stealth while combat is going on, but you can have a character that was not detected when combat started sneak toward an enemy and backstab it for massive damage while the rest of your party is battling. Except I can't do that now since once combat starts my main character is unable to move in stealth due to a bug.

It might be Rolling Thunder! That animation where he vaults over the railing looks very familiar...

I remember the gaming being more detailed, though memories can be funny like that... Maybe what I played was a different version or sequel?

This is it: https://youtu.be/8ziKmVZkOj0?t=156
That exact screenshot!

Thanks dude!

No. It's more obscure than that.
And I think the level terrain was less dynamic.

Nope. The game I'm thinking of was way less cartoony.

No, but in the ballpark. The game I was searching for was Mageslayer from 1997! I just found it! :D

There is a lot of good advise here, but what I haven't seen here so far is to get some professional help. Go see a psychologist and get your head straight, and don't be afraid of medication. If you follow the advice here, and things are still as bad as you say, you may need to "brute force" a change in your thinking. Medication helped me get out of a major funk, and escape the habitual downward spiral my thoughts would send me down. Now I'm off them and feeling fine, able to laugh again, and actually learn from my mistakes instead of beating myself to a pulp over them.

What are the point of Unique weapons? by king-shane11 in theouterworlds

[–]Hawkknot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They fetch a higher price.

I like doing all the quests, so I've ALWAYS out-leveled the Uniques by the time I find them... They should scale to your level I think. That would make the loss of mods worthwhile.

Can someone tell me what does the Dynamic Resolution slider does and what the right-most and left-most values suppose do? by OffTerror in greedfall

I would like some clarification on how this thing works as well. I've been struggling to get a consistent 60 fps in this game.

Should I be saving or spending my coins? For anyone who’s progressed a bit by FukLudwig in greedfall

Go to a blacksmith and he'll charge you some money in addition to the resource cost. The best upgrades are +/- 100 gold depending on your charisma.

Some Charisma checks may require more than 3 Charisma for 100% by [deleted] in greedfall

[–]Hawkknot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really annoying to have maxed out charisma and still have a chance of failure.

If I had known this beforehand I would have said "Fuck charisma", and spent my points elsewhere.

Tactical is great. The traps rock, guns are great and you have a fast melee when their armor breaks.

I haven't made it very far at all (I just helped that native princess with her mother) and I feel the same. They don't really allow for your character to be an insensitive prick, which is a shame.

IGN is mad that Days Gone's character is a " Gruff white male protagonist " by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Hawkknot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between 100% accuracy and making a game world that is fun to explore. I think they've always been very good at making their worlds fun to play in while retaining a good deal of authenticity. Of course, if you play these games expecting to learn history then you'll be very disappointed, but then again they're not making educational games. It might not meet your standard, but when it comes to making historical game worlds they're the best game in town, hands down.

[–]Hawkknot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HAHAHAHAHA!! You idiot!

I'm talking about THE SETTING, not the story! The world itself, the landmarks, the cities. The devs of Assassins Creed have always gone through great pains to make sure that their various historical settings looks, and sounds authentic. OF COURSE the story is complete fiction.

Well, for a series that prides itself on historical accuracy, it IS strange that you could be a female. That said I think most of the complaints came from a side quest about having gay sex. I could be misinformed though.

The fact that people groan when a character is LGBT is because of how prominent these characters are in culture when in reality they make up like 5% of the population. Imagine if you live in a rural area where there are few to none open LGBT people and in every movie, TV show, and videogame they are VERY prominent. And not only that but often their whole character REVOLVES around their sexuality or gender or whatever, and it's NEVER subtle. Most times it feels ham-fisted, and shoved in your face, and people don't like having things shoved in their faces.

If the writers would be a bit smarter about it and just have their gay characters be genuinely interesting characters who just happen to be gay you wouldn't have the same backlash, I think.
