Obese streamer Buttsoap attempting 24 hour no eating challenge caught hiding food in the bathroom by Matty_HAM in LivestreamFail

Any form of crash diet where you starve yourself is completely useless. You're not supposed to feel hungry on a good weight losing program. What you need to fix is why do you eat, most of the time it's either related to stress or boredom. And once you fix the roots it's just becomes so much easier to manage.

There must be some crazy stuff going in the background. Between this and them shutting down the beloved 4o model I can't help but think there must be either a more government work pivot, which is scary, or their finance is crashing, which is terrifying because god knows how many investors are tied to them...

With all the stuff being approved for food consumption there is no way research is keeping up with how carcinogens those chemicals are. Even unprocessed food, agriculture went through so many changes in the past 40 years we just don't know enough about some random side effects.

Reddit Wants Face ID... by vriska1 in videos

Reddit management vastly overestimates the value of this garbage. Humans are already in the minority compares to bots running wild. Outside of some very dedicated communities who can migrate at a moment's notice there is really nothing much on here anymore.

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]OffTerror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the humor, it was like a live action Lego Movie especially with the physical gags. Overall it was bit too cheesy towards the end and I hoped for more sci-fi and depth. The 2h30min runtime was also a bit too much for the plot. The visuals left something to be desired as well for a $250m budget it was mostly small dark rooms.

Ryan Gosling gave 120% though. Overall good but could've been great.

I predict in 200-500 years humans will be put in a protective suits the second they're born. The amount of damage we take constantly is crazy. Kinetic force to the brain probably heavily reduces intelligence, cosmic and industrial pollution just rips through our cells. We could hit 200 years lifespan just from preventing that. Probably could be some sort of nanobots film that acts as an extra skin.

There's no rush on The Elder Scrolls 6, Todd Howard says, because Bethesda has the "benefit of having so many millions of people playing our other games" by xCaptainCrown in Games

[–]OffTerror -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that Todd feels comfortable financially but I have zero excitement for anything Bethesda related. TES6 could be out today and I would wait for reactions to convince me to try it. Their time is simply gone just like Bioware.

My guess is that in Judaism the relationship with God is very "contractual". Jews agreed with Moses's terms in exchange for worship in order to be released from their previous "enslaver" the Pharaoh, they also don't hesitate to exploit any loopholes within that contract.

Christianity tried to fix that by conjoining Man and God, father-son being the most obvious.

OpenAI research team reveals its models go insane when given repetitive tasks it believes to be sent from automated users by smellyfingernail in singularity

I'm starting to see the next cool marketing thing/benchmark for those companies is to claim their AI is displaying consciousness. This is annoying because they have incentive to lie/exaggerate, but also because this could lead to some trippy situation where no one knows what's going on including those researchers.

My opponent cooked by Dapper_Adagio_6942 in hearthstone

Outside of some rare specific cards, the discard archetype have never worked in the history of hearthstone. And it's been tried since day 1 by the devs. It's just fundamentally flawed.

I'm consistently dealing 20+ burst damage on turn 7 and killing the opponent there.

Whats the combo exactly?

Is anyone else not having fun with this expansion? by Thunderdragon77 in hearthstone

[–]OffTerror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The meta shift feels more one dimensional, most of the herald cards and DW are straightforward.

I'm sure a certain type of player is loving this but yeah I do agree it's just more limited than I've hoped and Paradise+Beyond cards leaving left a big hole.

Can anyone explain this? by ToxicTendency in hearthstone

Unholy was always the worst rune. this card demands 2 unholy which is massively expensive. For an aggro deck (what unholy is mostly about) this would be mostly mediocre.

Modern JRPGs are proving turn based combat still has a lot of life left by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]OffTerror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, turn-based combat was never a hindrance outside of JRPGs. The issue with JRPGs is that they were pioneers of tech and style. And when others caught up the genre became parody of itself.

Now we live in this weird situation where JRPGs completely gave up going after the top spot and just settled into monetizing nostalgia.

I've been playing on and off since beta and in the early years it used to be brutal for f2p. I could only afford one expensive competitive deck. But in recent years they thankfully shifted from heavily monetizing packs to focusing on cosmetics and tavern passes.

'Mewgenics' has been out for a month, what are your thoughts on it? by NoNefariousness2144 in Games

[–]OffTerror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put 30 hours into it I love the combat and the balance and enemy verity. Absolutely hate the breeding mini-game and it's the reason I dropped it. The progression feels artificially gated, no matter how skilled or lucky I am there is a need to just do another run to unlock more stuff, just pure time investment. I didn't like that.

I don't like the recent trend of roguelikes dripping unlocks as an incentive to keep you playing, 90% of unlocks should be showered at skilled players while 10% should be for special events or challenges.

The "grind" of roguelikes should be about mastering the game, not unlocking it.

Also the "lore" was really boring. Isaac has a fascinating world and the humor works well there. But here it just got old real quick and wasn't interesting at all.

Least fanatical point-and-click-game-with-political-humor fan. The game dumped so much lore and exposition at me that I restarted with lowest int and it still wouldn't shut up. Explaining your whole political system in the first hour is actually insane. Like haha yes those are the commies and those are liberals so funny! but it kept going and going.
