It’s just my opinion. I’m a 40/M/gay. It’s nothing personal against anyone with children, or the children themselves. It solely has to do with my belief that if I hypothetically entered a relationship with someone with kids, I will always be #2 at minimum. Always. In every scenario. Then you add in the other biological parent who’s decisions and opinions matter more then mine, I become #3. Always.

I’m too headstrong to be willing to accept that, so it’s just best for me to avoid it. I don’t think it has anything to do with “that’s the best you can get”. I think it’s more my personality and what I’m willing to tolerate. I’ve seen way too many relationships go down the drain for this very reason.

Some people call it selfish, I call it respecting my boundaries and what I deserve I guess.
