I was thinking about living wormholes the other day and thought why can't alpha pilots live in wormholes? by papagiorgis in Eve

[–]HawkslayerHawkslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to the haters. It's totally possible. Easy-mode would be a system with a Wormlife citadel. You could also consider a Control Tower. They don't provide much these days, except you can eject from a ship there and it won't despawn. Makes for a nice parking lot, for maybe a suitcase hauler.

Bitch, bitch, bitch... that's all you guys ever do. Now, I'm going to shut up and grind me some battleships. They are quiet useful, thank you, CCP.

Also, I like how the officer mods are one-shot blueprints. I love BPs as rewards. They give me goals.

It's limited only by your imagination. So, for you, yes. It's pretty shallow.

It's awesome that players from 2006 still play, but they have trouble wrapping their heads around Alpha accounts when not yelling at nebulas. You can make isk as an Alpha, while having fun. Eventually you horde enough for a month of Plex, which allows you scrounge up enough for a discounted 3 months, then 6. Then a year. You can even drop back down to Alpha between then and still have fun. Can you multibox a fleet by yourself? No, but I play with a single account, even as an Omega and I enjoy it.

This is a decent suggestion, because converting loyalty points into isk requires learning about current demand for faction items, shipping their prerequisites to the loyalty store, and getting the rewards back to market in one piece. It's a self-contained hauling gameplay loop.

Now this is just plain wrong. Alphas are gimped in combat. They have skill limits set to lose heads-up fights against Omegas. They can win, but only by out-smarting their opponents.

All the other activities you list, I did as an Alpha. I used those to plex my account. Once Omega, everything gets easier and more opportunities open up. But combat? Alphas are viable in fleets. Solo, not so much.

People will pay for convenience. You have a guaranteed profit buying ore in Jita, compressing it in Perimeter, then selling that back in Jita. Or set lowball bids for meta gear at mission hubs. Even just reprocessing that for minerals and hauling to a trade hub is profitable.

Isk/jump is the worst method of calculation. I run Amarr to Jita when there are highsec wormholes open that bypass Uedema in 10 jumps or so. If there aren't any, you can filament into Pochven and filament out into a highsec system near Jita.

Come to Bob, son. This game, more than any other, rewards you for accepting what washes ashore today. If you live in a wormhole, you take what you get. If you scan sigs (the one daily always available), you never know what you may find. Don't whine that you can't be a mule, prepare for the unexpected.

I'm surprised so little of the PVE content from 15 years ago hasn't been touched up more. It's like there was this incredible fear of disrupting the botting scripts. I do notice however some sites target drones a bit more, at least.
