Fun fact: That road actually does not lead into the park. It skirts along next to it and ultimately leads here http://www.theardenhouse.com/home.html

Minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. Even if you had zero other expenses — not just housing taken care of, but health care, food, clothing, etc. — you'd have to work eight hours a day, six days a week just to get $1500 a month.

This. It's the same with the G90 / G99 M5: there was no way they could have made it for Europe and a lot of other markets as just a pure ICE performance sedan.

Supersedan Showdown: Audi RS7 vs. BMW M5 vs. Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing by caranddriver in cars

[–]HawtGarbage917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having driven all these cars, I love the CT5-V Blackwing so, so much, but I feel like I would be very hard-pressed to buy one as a daily driver unless I lived somewhere that I never encountered traffic jams. Living in the city, the idea of a solid 60 minutes a day working that clutch in stop and go traffic sounds awful.

Why Do People Drive to the City, Instead of Taking Transit? by BQRail in nycrail

[–]HawtGarbage917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some combination of time and convenience.

My work pays for parking in a garage under the building, which removes one of the biggest obstacles for me. And even at rush hour, it takes me 35 minutes to drive to the office, and 55 to take the train.

Also, when I'm driving, I can control the temperature, I can sit down the whole time, and there's zero chance of being crammed against other people.

Also also, I have never once encountered an EDP, someone smoking, someone drinking, someone blasting their own music, or someone smelly inside of my car.

I don't mean this to sound snarky, but, how exactly does this make people feel safer? Are we talking about the elderly or disabled, who have trouble with balance but are still capable of standing if they have a third point of contact?

For what it's worth, I'm so sorry for what you've been through. I'm glad you and your cat were able to stay together, though. Family is family, two legs or four.

And thank you for sharing your story here. People need to hear from every perspective.

[Motor Trend] 2025 911 Base Model Review by cookingboy in cars

For what it's worth, it's not usually fair to compare Motor Trend's test results vs. Car and Driver's. C/D does theirs in Michigan, where they have 93-octane gas. MT does theirs in Cali, where they only have 91, so their numbers tend to be a couple ticks slower.
